Please help us welcome Phoebe she is 8.5 years old approx 12 pounds. She is a super sweet little girl who loves to go for walks. She is in a foster home with other dogs and does ok but she would prefer to be the only baby in the house. She is not ready for adoption as of yet, she still needs to see our vet. She will need all her shots and a dental. If you can help us by donating for her vet bills we would truly appreciate it. Watch for her updates

Ruby had her CT scan yesterday (huge thank you to Mobile Animal CT/ Phoenix), and we received the radiologist's report tonight, and did not get the news that we were expecting. Her salivary glands are normal and not leaking fluid, but her lymph nodes are enlarged and she has lymphadenopathy. She also has a cranial mediastinal mass in her chest, which could be lymph node related, and could be affecting the drainage of lymphatic fluid.
At this point, she's been referred to internal medicine for further exploration to find out what this mass is (infection, benign, malignant, etc) and see if she can be treated.

We are all really worried about her, and her foster is devastated.

We will be reaching out to IM tomorrow to see who can get her in.

Ruby update!

Sweet Ruby has exhausted every other possible treatment for her jaw/neck swelling (possible sialocele), including exploratory surgery/biopsy/fluid analysis during her dental, and 2 different meds, and her foster will be scheduling her for her CT scan tomorrow. Despite initial improvement after her exploratory surgery, the swelling has come back with a vengeance.
We were hoping to be able to wait to sedate her until her Valley Fever was under control and she was at a healthy weight (currently holding steady at an underweight 3.5 lbs), but we just can’t. Ruby has fought so hard from being unable to open her jaw for a while, Valley Fever, Anaplasmosis, pancreatitis, and she needs this so that we know what is leaking and we can get her to the specialist for the appropriate treatment (likely surgery).

Ruby continues to be “the sweetest girl in the world” and happy, and we are going to make sure that she gets healthy as well!

If you would like to help us continue to help her with her ongoing care, we would really appreciate it!

Ruby update!
