Yesterday, sweet Sidney had his dental and neuter, and he lost quite a few teeth. We also learned that he has a semi recent jaw fracture. When Sidney was found, he had been attacked by something larger than him, leaving him with wounds all over his neck and head, so we are thinking that his jaw might have been fractured then. He has some special sutures in his mouth to stabilize it, which will be removed in 3 weeks, and he will do just fine.
Sidney is already back to his spunky old self and is as happy as can be!

Maple update!
Maple just had her abdominal ultrasound this afternoon and we are still left searching for answers. The good news is that we have ruled out any congenital abnormalities, but we still don't know why she's seemingly not absorbing nutrients. She's been on a very high calorie diet, but remains quite underweight and tires easily. She's being started on a hydrolyzed protein diet, and we will need to do a specialized GI panel to keep working through the mystery.
For now, Maple is being loved and spoiled by her foster and loves her foster siblings.

Often we are faced with medical cost due to the age and condition of the fur baby. Please if you are able donate $5 or any amount you are able to. 100% of donations are used on the animal. Hi friends,

It's me, Maple. I am now 4.5 months old, and while I should be almost ready for adoption, we have run into some health issues.

My foster family noticed early on that something was off, starting with me being underweight when I arrived. Despite getting extra food, including meals frozen in a slow feeder with puppy formula and fish oil, my body condition score remains at 3.5/9 and I have very little muscle. I also tire quickly, drink a lot of water, and urinate frequently.

Blood work from last week revealed that I am anemic, have low protein, and have an elevated kidney value, along with decreased albumin. Further urine testing showed that my urine is not properly concentrated, but it is not losing protein, so the vet is unsure where the protein is going.

The veterinarian recommends an ultrasound with a specialist to determine what is going on. We are reaching out to ask for help so we can move forward with this necessary care.
