Here’s Ebok’s Dream Girl and her win last night in race 3 at Los Alamitos. She’s #2 . She’s owned in partnership with dad (Howard Nichols) and trainer Angela Aquino, ridden by Justine Klaiber. Congratulations 🎉

Gosh I love this mare! I think Lizzey (x Jess Being Valiant o/o dtr of Royal Shake Em)is going to like rodeos. She competed in her first rodeo perf tonight in Gruver, TX, bulls in chutes and a reride bronc, full crowd on 2nd, bright NFR chutes to boot too lol. She took it all in so well, proud horse mom! She was in wrong lead going to first 🙈, but I just let her figure it out. She didn’t run across the pen very hard at all, but she worked honest and as my hubby said, it was a positive experience for her first out. Honestly, I was concerned she’d be anxious and she wasn’t. She was so good during the rodeo and actually seemed more at ease there vs a jackpot 😆🤷‍♀️. I’m excited to keep tinkering along with her, she’s just fun. A 17.8 is winning it and it’s a dang nice rodeo horse, we were 18.5 high loping 🥴. I’ll take it!! She’s got so much more there and we’ll just let her figure it all out at her pace. 💗💗
‼️Side note: I chose this little open rodeo for her because I know what a great committee they have and they do a great job with their ground. They add $1000 an event too $100 EF 100% payback!! 🙌 And it’s 20 mins from the house!! ❤️Oh and free brisket plate too, it’s quite yummy!! 😋

It was an interesting weekend. We started out at Liberal PRCA rodeo on River. I’d been really working on our right turns (he goes to left first) and having better, more efficient turns. Well we did that 💪🏻, but we also cruised right by 1st 🥴🤦‍♀️. He usually needs pushed pretty good to it because he rates it hard. I may have over rode that one 🙄🤷‍♀️. So my bad, we were off the pace, but I still got lucky and won some money. The 2nd perf got weather unfortunately so their misfortune turned into my “Pennie’s from heaven” as my hubby says 😆. Hey I’ll take it!!
We ventured over to a great barrel race in Woodward Sat night with Lizzey and Corona. Corona is in timeout to think about why he floated by first and didn’t change leads like he knows to do 🙈. But he did have great 2/3 barrels. He did win some day money tho so once again, I’ll take little Lady Luck any day!! Guess they have off days too.
Now to my Lizzey girl, oh she makes me smile. She won us some day money too (this race was split into Fri/Sat sections ❤️). We were one out of a senior side pot ck and two out of 2d and it was so close!! Tough race, some tough 1D/rodeo horses there and she’s half sec off and no exhibitions. I’m very proud of her progress. Soooo here’s her vid from last night. 🎉🥰

Lizzey got to go to her first rodeo. I was really proud of her, there was a lot going on in comparison to what she’s typically used to and she took it all in well. We weren’t in the running by no means 🥴, definitely could be faster and sharper, but that’s ok. I didn’t ask for much, just wanted to see how she’d do and have it be a positive experience. ✅✅🫶🏻 There just hasn’t been many jackpots lately that I can get to and we need runs to get solid and consistent so figured why not?? Good girl Lizzey!! Have I mentioned that I love my big gray gal?? 💗😊

We ran over to Devers Arena for little pop up jackpot and so glad we did! Lizzey did so good!! 2nd 1D with 16.6 and it was won with a .5, (sorry I never remember the full times 😆🙈). I just love this big gal, she’s so fun. 🫶🏻

Now that the immediate sadness and heartache isn’t so new, mom lost her compadre, her friend, her “Boss”, on our nations birthday 😥. Boss wanted to watch all the celebrations from best seat he could I guess. He was 27 and went peacefully in his sleep. We are so thankful for all the years we were blessed to enjoy him. He and mom had a lot of fun together. He’ll be dearly missed. 🙏💔
