Our farrier came last week to trim our horses and mini’s . Our working pupil assisted with the task and found that the mini’s were somewhat feisty. We recently welcomed a new adult rider who is eager to learn and is doing exceptionally well. On Saturday, Matt, our TB was more inclined to stop than go, but he eventually realized that he could not get away with being lazy. Our pupil, who is an intermediate rider, took instruction well and made progress with Matt, ultimately achieving a nice collected canter. Horse’s can have off days like we do. Patience is the keyword and to be firm . 😊

I'll be in the barn.❤️
“When people have come to visit over the years
they commonly hear from me "I'll be in the barn."
When life gets hard I'll be in the barn.
When things are just right I'll be in the barn.
When the sun shines
The rain falls
Or snow covers the ground
I'll be in the barn.
If things seem to be falling apart or if I'm
celebrating the simple things, I'll be in the barn.
When I'm looking for answers or trying to clear my mind, I'll be in the barn.
When I'm looking for myself, I'll be in the barn.
If I'm working or trying to relax, I'll be in the barn.
Even when I'm not in the barn my mind drifts there, I find myself thinking about being in the barn...
It's where I keep my riches
All my wins and my failures
Every one of my hopes, dreams, hardships and
memories.
You can find them all in the barn, buried in the hay, hiding under a halter, spilling out of the feed bins,or glimmering with dust in the evening light.
I may be covered in dust, dirt, feed, hair, and hay, smell of sweat and manure, and sometimes there may be blood or tears but I'll be there. I'll be in the barn.
So if your wondering where to find me, I'll be in the barn. If I'm not there I promise I'm on my way.”

So love my barn time
Even cleaning the stalls and listening to the horses eat seems to bring peace to my soul❤️
So love this horse…

Welcome!

Pine Ridge Stables was established in 2002 in Virginia. We love teaching children to ride, we offer summer riding camps for Beginner’s to Intermediate rider’s. We have private lessons and group lessons. We teach on hands on instruction in horse care and health basics, safety and handling, proper equipment use and care and other topics . We also welcome community group visits by appointment. Adults are always welcome to come and ride to. Maybe you rode as a kid, have the jitters that come along with getting back in the saddle. We will help you get there and build up your confidence to continue riding for many years to come! We teach Hunt Seat and Western Riding. Our Instructor Connie Brisbane has been on and around horse’s since she was a child. Started showing at a young age . She trained with private barns in Canada when she was younger. Making trips up from Vermont to stay with her grandmother in Montreal. From there she went to work for Black Acres Stables, in Colorado in which she taught riding, and showed competitively throughout many states . Finally ending up in Horse Country. Virginia! Connie is a Certified Instructor under the British Horse Society.

We have moved back to Somerset Pa for the winter months. Hope to see you soon.
