It's been a year yesterday since our devastating barn fire. We not only lost our barn and arena but our goats, our furbaby kitties, chickens and ducks. It's been a hard year here but we persevere. The exterior of the barn is days away from being finished...hoping we can at least get the arena in a usable state before snow sets in.

Beginning of week 3. Moving slower than normal due to the heat (and I don't blame them a bit!--health first!) but they are starting to add the stable portion to the side of the arena.

Nice day at the farm

The arena is on a hill from the house. High dry land. Hopefully means no mud in the spring and fall!

Day 2 of building on the hill. We couldn't rebuild in the front due to FEMA's remapped flood zone.

Beams started going in today. this is the back part of the arena. Stable area will be to the right.

Digging trenches for timbers used to slide the loafing shed out of the new build site

Tom Harris and Rodney Harris working as a team to dig out the dirt all the way around the run in shed to get it ready to move from where the arena is being built.
