Another exciting color that we are working with is dark tuxedo. Aka black tux. This is definitely not a good line for beginners but it is one of the most sought after colors in the quail work right now.

We are proud to announce that we have added the sparkly gene to our breeders! Sparkly adds patterning to the existing base color of the quail. It was imported from Germany as the German sparkly collection, and is very rare right now. We have established a few cages of breeders and it will be available very soon.

We will have 3 week old coturnix quail and some blue laced red Wyandotte, Silver laced Wyandotte and Black copper maran chicks at Rockin I farms auction in Florien Saturday. If you’ve never been it’s a great place to hang out. Family friendly, lots of merchandise and all types of poultry. You never know what you’re gonna come across or who you might run into. Eggs currently in the incubator are Ayam Ketawa, Silkie, Lavender Orphington, Black copper maran, Americana, Silver laced Wyandotte, Blue laced red Wyandotte, Coturnix Quail and Royal palm turkeys.

Coturnix quail start laying at around 7 weeks of age on average, and can lay up to 300 eggs a year.

I have one of these brooders. They are well made and worth the money.

Will soon have some 3x3 brooder on 4 ft legs ready, 3 sides enclosed, all treated lumber, galvanized wire and screws, tin roof, light fixture for heat bulb 1/2" hardware cloth floor. These will last a very long time, pick up only, custom orders welcome

The next couple of days should be exciting. We have several new coturnix quail colors hatching that will go into breeding pens when they mature. Pearl fee (similar in color to the snowflake bobwhite.), Schofield silver collection coturnix and Black tuxedo.
