Meet Krista! Krista has been with us for nearly six years as the Chief Connections Officer for Golden Paws Animal Hospital, Grooming at Golden Paws, and Golden Paws Mobile Vet. Krista keeps everything running smoothly, from operations to human resources to business development and she’s the backbone of all our community and marketing efforts. We're lucky to have someone so talented making sure we deliver on our promises both inside and out!

Krista really feels that the culture at GP is incredibly positive. She sees that everyone here genuinely wants to be part of the team and work towards common goals. In her view, there's a shared belief in our vision and mission, and people truly enjoy each other's company. She often remarks on how this spirit is evident in the way we communicate, eagerly participate in events, and find opportunities to spend time together—whether it's through camping trips, social outings, or festive gatherings.

It's awesome having such a fantastic teammate who truly loves working with both our staff and the Golden community!

We recommend annual dental cleanings for your pets. They help prevent periodontal disease, improve overall health, freshen breath, and reduce pain. Moreover, regular cleanings assist in early detection of dental issues, ensuring your furry friend can eat comfortably.

Hello, I'm Dr. Sara. I want to emphasize how important yearly wellness exams are for your pets. Even if they seem healthy, some conditions can develop silently without obvious symptoms at first. Through regular wellness exams and diagnostic tests, I can catch any potential issues early and begin treatments that can improve and extend their lives. My goal is to keep your cherished companions happy and thriving for as long as possible, ensuring you have many joyful years together.

Ten cases of Avian Influenza have been diagnosed in domestic cats in Colorado since May 2024. Two of the most recent cases were indoor only cats that had exposure to raw poultry meat (chicken, turkey). While most confirmed cases in domestic cats have resulted in death, one cat in Colorado has survived the acute illness.

To mitigate Avian Influenza exposure to companion animals, CDA and CDPHE recommend against feeding raw poultry products, especially to cats, and emphasize the need for caution when handling any raw poultry.

Raw pet foods come in many different forms, such as:
•Raw (like the raw chicken you buy from the grocery store)
•Raw frozen
•Freeze-dried (frozen and then dried in a vacuum)
•Dehydrated (dried using warm air)

The easiest way to identify a raw pet food product is to look for the word “raw” on the packaging. You can also check with the pet store or the pet food company.

You should seek veterinary care if your cat has any of the following signs:
• Fever
• Lethargy
• Low appetite
• Reddened or inflamed eyes
• Discharge from the eyes and nose
• Difficulty breathing
• Neurologic signs, like tremors, seizures, incoordination, or blindness

The current risk to domestic dogs is unknown at this time. Infections in dogs have been rare and dogs seem less susceptible to the virus than cats. It is still advisable to avoid feeding raw poultry products to dogs as well.

We’re here to answer your questions and to keep your pets healthy.
