For this edition of *The Mohave Insider Business Spotlight*, we spoke with Amber’s Mutt Hutt owner Amber, whose passion for animals and community has helped create one of Golden Valley’s true hidden gems.
Amber shared that her love for animals inspired her to open the grooming salon, turning what started as a dream into a successful local business built around compassion, patience, and care. She explained that grooming is much more than appearances. It’s about helping pets stay healthy, comfortable, and happy while also building trust with owners who consider their animals part of the family.
What makes Amber especially unique is her incredible level of expertise in feline grooming. Alongside Amber’s Mutt Hutt, she also owns Desert Cat Claws, a cat-only grooming salon dedicated specifically to feline care. Even more impressive, Amber is one of only around 300 people in the entire world certified as a Master Cat Groomer. Which honestly feels less like a certification and more like unlocking a mythical achievement considering most cats act like tiny emotional support velociraptors during bath time. 🐈
Amber explained that creating a more personal connection with the community is one of the most rewarding parts of her work. She strives to make every pet and owner feel welcome and cared for, building relationships that go far beyond grooming appointments. Customers appreciate the calm atmosphere, personal attention, and genuine compassion shown toward every animal that walks through the doors.
Giving back to the community is also extremely important to Amber. She shared that she has donated services and support to local shelters, helped with bath specials, supported community causes including the American Legion Emergency Relief Fund, and participates in annual events such as howl-themed treats and pet-centered community activities. Her businesses continue to support local pet owners while helping animals throughout Mohave County.
Amber’s Mutt Hutt offers a variety of grooming services for both dogs and cats, including nail grinding, deshedding treatments, and specialized care tailored to each pet’s needs. Amber emphasized that every animal is different and deserves patience, understanding, and individualized attention.
Beyond grooming, Amber described herself as self-driven and deeply motivated by both her love for animals and her desire to create a strong, positive environment for customers and staff alike. She said building a good team and maintaining positive energy within the business is incredibly important because animals can often sense the atmosphere around them better than humans do. Which, based on internet comment sections alone, might suggest pets have evolved beyond us emotionally. 🌵
Amber also made it clear that none of this would be possible without the support surrounding her. She shared heartfelt appreciation for her employees, family, loyal customers, and the Golden Valley community itself. According to Amber, the encouragement, trust, referrals, and support from the community are what helped both businesses grow into what they are today. She emphasized that her team and loved ones have stood beside her through the long days, challenges, and successes, helping turn her passion into something truly meaningful.
