An update on that belt; we’re at dye point now with the designing done. If the center strip of the new belt looks a little off color, it has to do with a dyeing technique that will be used to fade / weather the center of the belt similar to the old belt.

The knives, crafted from railroad spikes by a private smith, were not made here. We were hired to produce the sheaths so that they could be sold together at an upcoming crafters event.

We have a client who’s favorite leather belt is worn out beyond reasonable repair and asked us to replicate it as a custom belt.
Thicker high quality vegetable tanned leather belt.
Hand tooled design. It’s not a perfect match, but is a very close design match.
We have some ideas for the holes up the middle and the stud work, so we’re standing by for a final consult before moving to dye.

This one will be nice.

Chaps and Chains has a couple of quick announcements.

We now have a vinyl cutting and press machine, and have produced some (non leather) decals and clothing with it.

We are also now an authorized distributor of “Punisher Powder bayou seasoning”.

One of our winter projects is an equestrian saddle repair, and a motorcycle saddle build. As we try to expand our versatility, please feel free to contact with ideas or questions.

We haven’t posted in a while. Did a couple of remote shows and set ups at events with some pre existing and small amounts of new product.

Next week, we have a custom belt to work on, several custom knife sheaths, a sheath / holster for a hole punch, and are starting to design and build some leather bags.

We also have received a “heads up” that some motorcycle riding clubs have some vests that they need patches put on.

The end of August and beginning of September are looking like there will be a lot of work done in the shop
