Wagz N Kisses LLC

Wagz N Kisses LLC To provide pets with the same loving care provided by their owners while their owners are away. Wagz N Kisses is more than a dog walking service. It's not.

We create a healthy and relaxing environment through exercise, relaxation techniques, positive energy, and playtime. Exercise (walking) is the most important part of a dog's health. In the wild, dogs roam for miles every day and that natural instinct to roam is still present in all dogs -- even yours. All dogs have different levels of energy -- but even dogs with the lowest amount of energy need a

t least an hour of continuous exercise a day. A tired dog is a well-behaved dog. Through regular walking, many behavior issues can begin to be resolved -- after a long walk, your dog is in a calm state of mind and is more receptive to training and behavior corrections. Many dog owners feel that a yard or an outside place for their dogs to play is enough. To your dog, your yard is nothing more than a large kennel. They must be able to travel over a distance at a continuous pace every day to get proper exercise. We know your schedule is busy. It's difficult to find time to exercise yourself, much less time to properly exercise your dog each day. Wagz N Kisses is here to meet the needs of people like you, caring dog owners who want to ensure their dog gets the exercise and attention he needs every day. Our dog walkers will give your pets the same loving care they receive from you even though you are away from home. Call us to see how we can make you and your pets happier today!

Halloween Safety Tip #5- A carved pumpkin certainly is festive, but do exercise caution if you choose to add a candle. Pets can easily knock a lit pumpkin over and cause a fire. Curious kittens especially run the risk of getting burned or singed by candle flames.

Halloween Safety Tip #4- No tricks, no treats: That bowl of candy is for trick-or-treaters, not for Scruffy and Fluffy. Chocolate in all forms—especially dark or baking chocolate—can be very dangerous for dogs and cats. Candies containing the artificial sweetener xylitol can also cause problems. If you do suspect your pet has ingested something toxic, please call your veterinarian

Halloween Safety Tip #3- Your pets might not be the party animals in your family. If you’re having a party, put your pets in a room where they won't be disturbed. Be sure to check on them and reassure them that everything is all right. They may not be prepared to take part in the Halloween fun, but they don’t want to be isolated and ignored, either. Also don’t give alcoholic beverages to dogs, cats, birds or any other animals. Keep a watchful eye on party guests. Some may think it's funny to give an animal alcohol, but it can result in serious illness and even death.

Halloween Safety Tip #2- Think things through before putting your pet in a Halloween costume. Unless your dog or cat is extremely receptive to this kind of thing, you could be causing discomfort and stress. If you do dress up your pet, make sure the costume doesn’t obstruct your pet’s vision and isn't uncomfortable or unsafe.

Halloween continues to increase in popularity and an estimated 170 million Americans plan to celebrate the holiday this year. As with any busy holiday, pet owners should take special care to ensure that the four-legged family members stay safe. Halloween can pose many dangers for pets. This week we will list a new safety tip each day to keep your pets safe this halloween.

Halloween Safety Tip #1- (Fire) Safety First-
A Jack-O-Lantern with a real candle adds a wonderful, authentic touch to Halloween celebrations, but pets don’t know the danger of the small fire inside. Dogs, particularly enthusiastic tail-waggers, can easily knock over a pumpkin and cause a fire. Place Jack-O-Lanterns where they can’t be knocked over by a swinging tail or a curious cat.

Some people put a lot of emphasis on leash walks as the ultimate in exercise for dogs. But with cold weather and icy sidewalks on the way for many owners, poor leash manners can easily put dogs, their people, and even motorists in danger. And even if you enjoy walking your dog, cross-training will allow you to work different doggie muscles and provide health and mental benefits.

Cross Training Examples Include: Swimming, biking, carting, sledding, tug, fetch, running, or backpacking are just a few activities you can enjoy with your dog, depending on his health and your climate. Always check with your vet before introducing a new exercise regimen.

Like dogs of any age, senior dogs need physical exercise tailored to their needs, as well as mental stimulation in the form of training, play, and interactive games.
Your dog’s advanced age may present new challenges. You may need to train your dog to accept a sling around his rear for assistance up the stairs, or to learn new boundaries as he loses his vision.
A qualified trainer will help you train your dog useful and adorable new behaviors, regardless of your pup’s age!

Dog management tools like muzzles and crates, along with calmative aids like Through a Dog’s Ear or Thundershirts, can help keep your dog safe — and feeling safe — in stressful situations such as storms, being home alone, or visiting the vet.

To get the most out of these products, make sure to use them often when you are relaxing and having fun with your dog, not just in crisis mode. This way your dog doesn’t start seeing his crate, muzzle, or Thundershirt as a predictor of “bad things happening."
