🐾💕 DOUBLE THE KITTENS, DOUBLE THE FUN! 💕🐾

Meet Libby and Betsy, two little survivors who proved that family isn’t always about being related—it’s about sticking together when it matters most.

These sweet girls came from different litters but were found together in the middle of a busy road, looking out for one another. Since arriving at the shelter, their bond has only grown stronger, and we are requiring that they be adopted together.

🐱 Libby is approximately 10 weeks old.
🐱 Betsy is approximately 3½ months old.

Both girls are:
✅ Spayed
✅ Vaccinated
✅ FIV/FeLV Tested

If you’ve ever considered adopting a kitten, this is your sign to adopt two! Despite what many people think, two kittens are often easier than one. They keep each other entertained, help burn off that endless kitten energy, provide companionship when you’re away, and continue teaching each other important social skills. Plus, there is nothing sweeter than watching a bonded pair cuddle up together after a day of playing.

Libby and Betsy are playful, affectionate, and full of curiosity. They have already overcome a rough start in life and are now looking for a forever home where they can continue their journey side by side.

Interested in meeting Libby and Betsy? Stop by during our regular business hours to meet this adorable duo and see for yourself why two kittens really are better than one! 🐾💕

🎉🐾 THEY’RE READY FOR THEIR NEXT CHAPTER! 🐾🎉

After a week of veterinary care, grooming, lots of attention, and learning what life as a beloved pet is all about, the dogs from our recent hoarding case are officially looking for their forever homes!

📸 Before anyone asks—these are just random photos of some of the dogs! Not every dog is pictured, and some may appear more than once. We currently have 18 dogs available, and each one has their own unique personality.

❤️ Here’s what potential adopters should know:

🐶 Most are between 6 months and 2 years old

🐶 Most range in size from just under 20 pounds- just over 30 pounds

🐶 We have both males and females available

🐶 All have been vaccinated, spayed/neutered, dewormed, treated for fleas, and 4DX tested

🐶 They are all good with other dogs

🐶 Most seem to be okay with cats

🐶 They are incredibly social and loving, although some are a little shy at first and need time to build confidence

🐶 Some would do best in homes with another friendly dog to show them the ropes

🐶 We do not know how they are with children, but we expect most would do well with respectful kids

🐶 They are not yet housebroken or leash trained, but they are making progress every day and are eager to learn.

🏡 At this time applications will only be accepted in person at the shelter, where meet-and-greets will also take place during our regular business hours:

📍 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

📍 Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

📍 Weekends: By appointment

These dogs have come so far already, and now all they need are families of their own. Whether you’re looking for a hiking buddy, a couch companion, a playmate for your current dog, or simply a new best friend, we may have the perfect match waiting for you.

✨ Come meet them and help us write the happiest chapter of their story yet.

📢 JABMHS Will Remain Closed to the Public This Week 📢

Due to the ongoing care needs of the animals involved in the recent cruelty case, our shelter will remain closed to the public through the remainder of this week.

Our staff and volunteers are working tirelessly to provide daily care for these animals while also transporting them to numerous veterinary and grooming appointments. Ensuring that each animal receives the medical attention, comfort, and rehabilitation they need is our highest priority, and it is currently consuming nearly all of our available time and resources.

If you would like to support these efforts, donations may be left on our covered ramp at any time.

We cannot adequately express how grateful we are for the incredible support we have received from our community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing beside us and the animals who depend on us. We appreciate every single one of you.

Uno and Blueberry are just two of the pups now in our care.

We want to take a moment to recognize and thank the incredible people who make everything we do possible—our dedicated staff, our amazing volunteers, and our amazing veterinarian, Dr. Emily.

Time and time again, you show up early, stay late, and do whatever is needed without hesitation. Whether it’s cleaning kennels, feeding animals, assisting with medical care, comforting frightened newcomers, or tackling the countless unexpected challenges that come with animal welfare, you do it all with compassion and dedication.

The animals in our care may not be able to say “thank you,” but we see the difference you make in their lives every single day. Because of your hard work, they are safe, cared for, loved, and given a chance at a brighter future.

To our staff, volunteers, and Dr. Emily: thank you for your tireless commitment, your kindness, and your willingness to go above and beyond whenever you’re needed. We are endlessly grateful for each and every one of you.
The animals appreciate you, and so do
we. ❤️

Take a look at some of the new arrivals. A little over 24 hours ago they came to us scared to death and now they’re already warming up to our staff and volunteers. ❤️❤️

💙 A Very Special Thank You 💙

There are some people who always seem to show up exactly when they’re needed most, and our good friend and longtime supporter Patty Wadsworth is one of those people.

Today, Patty stopped by with an incredible donation—a check for $10,000 to support the animals in our care. We are truly overwhelmed by her generosity and kindness.

Patty has been there for us time and time again, always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, and support our mission whenever we find ourselves facing a challenge. Her unwavering commitment to helping animals and the people who care for them means more than words can adequately express.

Many of you may also know Patty as the founder of Gracie Bella’s Hope, a wonderful organization that has helped countless animals in need. Through her tireless dedication and compassion, she has made an immeasurable difference in the lives of so many animals.

From all of us at JABMHS—and from every animal whose life will be touched by this gift—thank you,

Please join us in thanking Patty Wadsworth for her extraordinary generosity and for everything she does for animals throughout our community! ❤️🐾

❤️ WE ARE ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY ❤️

In the wake of the recent hoarding case, our community has once again reminded us why we do what we do.

Over the past few days, our donation porch has been FILLED TO THE BRIM not once, not twice, but FOUR separate times! As if that wasn’t amazing enough, today we received an astonishing 46 boxes from Amazon packed with supplies for the animals in our care.

But the support hasn’t just come in the form of physical donations. We have received what feels like endless phone calls, messages, emails, comments, and words of encouragement from people near and far. The outpouring of kindness, concern, and support has meant the world to us during this challenging time. Knowing that so many people care about these animals and believe in our mission helps carry us through even the most difficult days.

We are also incredibly grateful for the monetary donations that have been coming in. While the mountains of supplies are easy to see, financial contributions are just as important. They allow us to provide veterinary care, medications, diagnostic testing, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, and all of the other medical care these animals desperately need. Every dollar donated helps ensure that these dogs receive the second chance they deserve.

Every bag of food, every blanket, every roll of paper towels, every cleaning supply, every encouraging message, and every dollar donated represents someone who chose to help. Because of your generosity, we are better equipped to care for the 16 dogs we took in from this case, as well as all of the other animals who depend on us every day.

The reality is that situations like this place an enormous strain on a shelter’s resources. The veterinary care, food, housing, cleaning supplies, and daily care add up quickly. Thanks to all of you, we don’t have to face those challenges alone.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. Thank you for your donations, your monetary support, your shares, your words of encouragement, and your unwavering belief in our mission. The animals may never know your names, but they are directly benefiting from your kindness every single day.

We are humbled, grateful, and reminded once again that this community truly shows up when animals need help the most.

🐾 Thank you for standing with us.
🐾 Thank you for believing in our mission.
🐾 Thank you for making a difference.

We couldn’t do this without you.

🚨 URGENT PLEA FOR HELP 🚨

Late last night, in conjunction with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, our shelter stepped in to assist with a heartbreaking cruelty case involving the removal of 27 dogs from a local home. These animals have endured conditions that no dog should ever have to experience, and they now need our community more than ever.

Of the 27 dogs removed, JABMHS has taken in 16, placing a tremendous strain on our shelter’s resources, staff, and budget. We are grateful that the Fulton County Regional SPCA and Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter have also stepped forward to assist with this case and provide care for the remaining animals.

Our staff and volunteers are working around the clock to provide these dogs with the care, comfort, and medical attention they desperately need. They will require veterinary care, lots of TLC and rehabilitation before they can begin their journey toward a better life.

We are urgently in need of:

🐾 Small breed dry dog food
Canned dog food
🐾 Blankets and bedding
🐾 Paper towels
🐾 Bleach and cleaning supplies
🐾 Monetary donations to help cover the enormous veterinary expenses that lie ahead

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a direct difference for these dogs and the many other animals already in our care.

⚠️ Please note: The shelter will be closed to the public through the weekend. This temporary closure will allow our team to focus on properly assessing, treating, and caring for these dogs while continuing to provide quality care to all of the animals currently at the shelter. Donations can still be dropped off at the shelter during this time, even while we are closed to the public.

While these dogs have a long road ahead of them, our hope is that once they have been medically cleared, rehabilitated, and deemed ready for adoption, they will each find the loving forever homes they deserve. We know our community has a big heart, and when that time comes, we will be looking for adopters willing to give these dogs the second chance they’ve never had.

We know we ask a lot of our supporters, but time and time again this community has shown incredible compassion when animals need it most. Today, we are asking for your help once again. Together, we can change the future for these dogs.
