For National Love Your Pet Day-
A Cape Ann Veterinary Cinderella Story:
It was a typical day at CAVH when a private rescue brought in a 2-year-old orange intact male cat that was found with an ear wound that was not healing well. He was living outside where there was a known feral cat colony, and they managed to trap him to see if they could get him the help he desperately needed. After being assessed (and checked for a microchip) our staff was dumbfounded how a cat who lived outside, was wounded and clearly had not experienced the best of people, could be so forgiving and sweet. From the moment he came out of the trap he was purring, seeking attention and just loving the entire staff. Our hearts melted so Dr. French and the surgery technicians neutered him, fixed his ear laceration and allowed him to convalesce at CAVH while his injury was healing. During this time, he decided one of our surgery technicians was his new person and he was going home with her whether she knew it or not. He is now living his best life enjoying sleeping on the fluffiest beds, playing with his toy mouse/laser pointer and traveling to Maine on weekends. He even has a puppy roommate he has now graciously accepted as his buddy. What a lucky boy you are Lucien aka “Lu”. ❤🐾✨
