It's another cremello out of our guaranteed color producing stallion.....I think this time we've got a stud rather than a filly...LOL yes, I know how to tell the difference but the mare is nervous & I'm not about to upset her or the foal...time will tell!

What a beautiful day! Spent some time in the swing under the huge oak which casts a big shadow. A light breeze and just appreciating nature.....yearling fillies frolicking; 6 week old puppies exploring the big dog yard which I put them and their mother in yesterday, cats pretending to ignore me LOL 2 yr old Dinah, the Catahoula Cur lounging at my feet and watching not 1, but 2, mockingbirds building nests in the vines over the top of the patio...yep, life is good on the Double W~~~hope everyone else's day was just as pleasant!

Looks like it will be another year of "All the pretty fillies" Say hello to this unnamed arrival of April 4th. And for those of you who remember the ordeal of Lucky Star, purchased by us at auction May 2010, who almost died on us within the first week due to the neglect and yes, abuse, in my opinion, of her previous owner who apparently never heard of WORMING a horse, well she is the proud dam of this little beauty with that snowflake on her forehead, just like mom's!

R.I.P. to our so smart, so sweet, so gentle and loving 29 y/o mare Bid for Honey. She passed in Oct. 2011 and it has taken me until now to be able to speak of it. She was a rascal, never met a latch she couldn't undo and took this swim soon after being groomed! While her barrel racing days were a thing of the past as were her baby making years, she was able to live out her life peacefully: content, adored and well taken care of. Some would have said "What, she's just a 'pasture ornament' 'taking up space' and 'eating up money' take her to the sale, if nothing else the kill buyers will buy her and at least you'll have some money instead of continuing to spend it on her" I DON'T THINK SO; WAS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN....and it SHOULDN'T HAPPEN to any horse!!!!

LM Payin On Line is now officially LM Smart Freckalena. We thought this name was more reflective of her pedigree and the AQHA was happy to let us change her name as she met the criteria to do so and we had $55! :)
