🔥 It’s a Hot One Out There! Keep Pets Safe in the Heat! 🐾

As temperatures rise, so do the risks for our furry friends. Here’s how to keep them safe during extreme heat:

✅ Always provide fresh, cool water
✅ Keep walks short & during cooler hours (early morning or evening)
✅ NEVER leave pets in parked cars — even for a minute
✅ Provide shade or keep them indoors with A/C
✅ Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting

🎉 Celebrating 40 Years of Second Chances! 🎉
Meet Snow Baby (K-2SO at PCHS), one of the many Adoption Alumni who found their forever home thanks to Pope County Humane Society! 🐾

From shelter life to sofa snuggles, Snow Baby is living proof of the love and joy that adoption brings — not just to the pets, but to the families who welcome them home. 💛

"We got snow baby last year on my birthday June 29th, 2024. We didnt plan on getting anymore cats but we went to an event at Copper Trail Brewing Co. All the sudden this white paw grabbed my kids as we walked by. We didnt know how much we needed Snow Baby to make us complete! She's funny, cuddly, smart, sweet and an absolute part of our family." -Molly Z.

We are excited to welcome new fosters to the Pope County Humane Society family! 🎉 We welcome new kitten fosters, dog fosters, and fostering-to-adopt fosters to care for kittens until they are old enough to be vetted and the adoption can be finalized— thank you for opening your hearts and homes. 💛

We currently have 13 animals in foster homes 🎉

Our donations have been abdundant we could use your help keeping up!

Class Act Thrift Shop is calling on kind-hearted, community-minded folks to join our volunteer team!
We're currently seeking help with:
🧺 Sorting and processing donations
🛍️ Stocking and organizing the sales floor
🧼 Keeping our shop clean and welcoming

Whether you can give a few hours a week or just want to help when you can, we’d love to have you. Volunteering is open from 11-3pm Thursdays-Saturdays. Volunteering with us is a fun way to meet new people and make a real impact!

This can be for your pet's adoption anniversary, birthday, loved one's birthday, memorial or really any special day! Your pet's photo will appear on the day of your choice. Just choose your favorite photo and then choose the day and pay! First come first served! Once a date has been reserved, it will no longer be available.
