$5 Friday: Help Us Cover Veterinary Care 🐾

Every animal that comes through our doors deserves the medical care they need to live a healthy, happy life. From vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries to diagnostics, medications, and emergency treatments, veterinary care is one of our largest expenses.

Last year, our veterinary bills totaled $66,442. During that same time, adoption fees brought in $33,190. While adoption fees help offset some of the cost, they don't come close to covering the full expense of caring for the animals who depend on us.

We intentionally keep our adoption fees affordable and competitive for our community because we want loving homes to be accessible to adopters. The difference is made possible through the generosity of supporters like you.

Have you ever wanted to do downward dog with your dog by your side in a beautiful vineyard setting? Sign up for our Scenic Yoga experience and enjoy a relaxing morning surrounded by great views, good company, and maybe a few wagging tails.

Want to create something inspired by your four-legged best friend? Join for Paws & Petals, where you'll design a beautiful floral arrangement in a pet-themed container to take home and enjoy.

Looking for a unique hands-on activity? Stop by Mustinka Salt Co.'s Build Your Own Body Scrub Bar and create a custom scrub. Your dog might enjoy all the new scents, but let's keep the finished product for the humans.

Throughout the event, we'll also be offering low-cost microchipping for just $10. A microchip is one of the simplest and most effective ways to help your pet get home safely if they ever become lost.

Of course, there will be wine, live music, plenty of fellow animal lovers, and the Pope County Humane Society team ready to meet your leashed, well-behaved pups. We love making new furry friends and handing out a few extra cuddles.

Join the Pope County Humane Society Content Creator Team!

Do you love animals, social media, photography, videography, or creating engaging content? We're looking for a small team of creative volunteers to help showcase the amazing animals and work happening at Pope County Humane Society!

What is the Content Creator Team?
The Content Creator Team will be a specialized volunteer group dedicated to creating fun, engaging, and mission-driven content for our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok platforms. Working alongside our PR Committee Chair, team members will collaborate to develop creative ideas, capture content at the shelter, and help bring our animals' stories to life.

Think:
🐾 Holiday and seasonal reels
🐾 Adoption spotlights and success stories
🐾 Behind-the-scenes shelter content
🐾 Trending social media challenges and sounds
🐾 Educational and fundraising content

Our goal is to continue growing our online presence, helping more animals find homes, and increasing awareness of the work we do. We have plenty of ideas—we simply need more passionate people to help make them happen!

We're seeking individuals who:
❤Love animals and support the mission of PCHS
❤Enjoy creating social media content
❤Have experience (or interest) in photography, videography, graphic design, or social media
❤Can work collaboratively with a team
❤Are dependable and able to attend scheduled content-gathering sessions at the shelter when needed
❤Are willing to think creatively and contribute ideas

This team will be overseen by our PR Committee Chair, who will coordinate:
✅Content planning
✅Creative brainstorming
✅Shelter content sessions
✅Posting schedules and project assignments

Limited Openings: To keep the team organized and effective, we will be selecting 3-4 volunteers through an application process. Applications will be reviewed, and selected volunteers will be contacted for a brief discussion before appointments are finalized.

From tiny bottle babies to playful explorers, these little ones are keeping our staff, volunteers, and foster families busy this kitten season!

With so many kittens to care for, we go through supplies quickly.

🚨 Urgent Foster Needed for Ivy! 🚨

Sweet Ivy is urgently looking for a foster home! She has developed "Happy Tail," a condition where her tail repeatedly hits hard surfaces and reopens wounds. Unfortunately, being in a kennel environment is making it difficult for her tail to heal, and she continues to reinjure it.

Ivy is house-trained, crate-trained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash, making her an easy guest in a home. She can be a little wary of new people at first and may need some time and patience to warm up, but once she feels comfortable, she is a wonderful companion.

Whether you're a flower enthusiast or have never arranged flowers before, this class is designed for all skill levels.
