It was made popular by the show “ The dog whisperer” the American veterinary society of animal behavior ( AVSAB) recommends choosing a trainer, who understands and uses reward base training, and stays up-to-date on the developments in the animal behavior field.

We are often asked the question from owners: How do I establish myself as the head of the pack, or alpha dog, with my dogs? “Head of the pack” is a buzz phrase made popular by trainers, handlers, and even TV personalities like Cesar Millan who fundamentally misunderstand dog behavior.
