Hi everyone!
I’m ACO Gwen Brown, and I’ve been honored to serve as the Facebook moderator for the Animal Control page over the past year.

Seeing this page grow has been amazing—and that’s because of you. Every share, comment, foster, adoption, donation, and word of encouragement has helped our shelter animals more than you know. This community truly shows up when it matters.

I’ll be stepping away as I relocate to welcome my new grandchild into the world and be there for her during this very special time in my life. While I’m moving on, I want everyone to know that the shelter will be reopening in the near future.

Please continue to follow the page, share our posts, and stay engaged. Your support helps this page grow, and that growth directly helps us save and support as many shelter animals as possible.

Rusty and Myself will be at Tractor Supply near Bear Creek Rd in Glenn Heights TX until 4:30 today!
Rusty needs either a month long foster, or an adopter before the 19th!!

Ok, Family!!! We literally have only 5 days to find fosters for these remaining babies!!
Bella has rescue interest, Texas is pending, but Rusty needs a home or a month long foster!
We have a rescue that has offered to sponsor vetting/sterilization/microchips for any dogs who go to foster as well! Food/toys/bowls will be provided!!

If anyone is able step up and be a hero for these fur kids, please reach out to Monica Salmeron at (214) 837-9255 before Thursday the 19th!!!

We received this picture this morning. It’s heartbreaking.

This sweet girl has been through something no dog ever should. We can get her transported to the Dallas area, but we urgently need a dedicated foster home for her.

She will need patience, understanding, and a calm environment—someone who can give her time to decompress and heal, both physically and emotionally. This is not a “quick turnaround” foster, but a chance to truly change a life.

If you can help or know someone who can, please reach out immediately. Even sharing this post could make all the difference. We will raise funds for the medical and food

This sweet baby was adopted today, but slipped out of her harness and ran off, from her new home on Claywood Dr. In Glenn Heights.

Glenn Heights Animal Shelter Temporary Closure 🐾

Dear Residents,

We want to share an important update regarding the City of Glenn Heights Animal Shelter.

Due to recent staffing transitions the shelter is temporarily closing operations as the city works to hire, reorganize, and strengthen its animal care services.

How You Can Help:

🐶 Foster or adopt: If you’re able to open your heart and home to a pet in need, consider fostering or adopting.

📣 Stay informed: Follow official Glenn Heights city social media and press releases for updates on the shelter’s reopening.

Looking Ahead:

City officials are working diligently to rebuild the animal services team and develop a sustainable plan for reopening the shelter with strong professional support.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued commitment to the wellbeing of all animals in our community. 🐾

Below are dogs that we still have that desperately need placement!
A few are in foster, so calling ahead to schedule a meet and greet or to discuss if any of our dogs would be a good fit for your home is encouraged.
