Some paw prints never fade from our hearts.

Today, October 27th, a beautiful Día de los Mu***os tradition honors our beloved pets, whose spirits are believed to return home to visit those who loved them.

We welcome them with candles, photos, favorite treats, water, and marigolds to help guide their journey home.

Our squad remembers every precious soul who crossed the Rainbow Bridge, especially the ones we rescued, loved, and wish we could hold just one more time.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.

Please share a photo or the name of a beloved pet waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. Let’s honor their memory together. 🌼

Congratulations to our sweet Teddy. He has found his forever family. His new name is RAFI!

Teddy received lots of adoption interest, but at SCARS, it’s never about finding just a home. It’s about finding THE RIGHT HOME. Sometimes that takes a little longer, but it’s always worth the wait! His new family is a perfect match beyond words!

We also want to celebrate Teddy’s incredible foster family, who saved him, loved him, and advocated for him every step of the way. What makes this even more special? They adopted a SCARS hero years ago and later became foster parents themselves!

THIS is our dream at SCARS! Families who don’t just adopt, but become part of our mission to save more lives; they “join the SCARS.”

To his foster family, thank you for your beautiful hearts and everything you do. We are so lucky and proud to have you in our squad! And to Rafi’s amazing new family, thank you for giving this special boy the love and forever home he deserves!

Happy tails, sweet Rafi! Your wait is over, and you’ve earned your superhero cape! Congratulations to all!

MEET OUR NEW HERO, PUMPKIN! 🎃

Meet our newest hero Pumpkin. Pumpkin’s journey hasn’t been easy. This sweet girl was used for breeding and endured terrible living conditions. Thankfully, a compassionate Good Samaritan stepped in and helped her escape that situation.

None of this would have been possible without an AMAZING family who stepped forward, “joined the SCARS,” and opened their beautiful home and hearts to foster Pumpkin. We cannot thank them enough for giving this precious girl the love, comfort, and security she deserves!

Pumpkin will be seeing our vet this week for a thorough examination and the medical care she needs. She needs to be fully vetted (she needs the works) and as you can imagine, the expenses add up quickly.

Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and will help us provide Pumpkin with the care she deserves.

PUMPKIN IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! If you’re interested in giving her a forever home, please visit www.jointhescars.org and submit an adoption interest application.

We will continue sharing updates as Pumpkin begins this beautiful new chapter!

To her incredible foster family and everyone who helped share her story, THANK YOU!

🐾WAFFLES UPDATE

Our sweet boy WAFFLES, formerly known as SHAQ, has another wonderful milestone to celebrate!

Just days ago, Waffles was sitting at Devore Animal Shelter, facing euthanasia with only minutes left to live. Today, this handsome boy is safe, loved, and recovering from his successful neuter surgery!

We are happy to report that his surgery went well, and he’s now resting comfortably at his beautiful foster home, Reckless Love Ranch, where he continues to be surrounded by love, kindness, and incredible care.

Because of YOU, Waffles was given a second chance at life. Every donation, share, prayer, and encouraging message helped make his rescue possible. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who rallied behind this gentle giant when he needed us most.

A very special thank you to our wonderful friends at Reckless Love Ranch for opening their hearts and beautiful ranch to Waffles and providing him with a safe, loving place to heal.

Although his surgery was successful, Waffles still needs continued veterinary care, recovery support, nutritious food, and other essentials as he works toward becoming his healthiest, happiest self.

Donations are still welcomed and greatly appreciated! Every dollar helps us continue providing the care Waffles deserves.

As a 100% volunteer-run, donation-based rescue, every dollar helps us give heroes like Waffles the future they deserve!

🐾WAFFLES UPDATE: FROM DEATH ROW TO FREEDOM!

Formerly known as SHAQ, now proudly known as WAFFLES! Just days ago, Waffles was at Devore Animal Shelter, on the euthanasia list with only MINUTES LEFT TO LIVE! Thanks to our incredible rescue community and our heroes at Reckless Love Ranch, his life was SAVED!

Today, Waffles is thriving at his beautiful foster ranch, enjoying the freedom and love he almost never experienced! He’s incredibly sweet, loves meeting people, and enjoys exploring the ranch, especially visiting the pigs! 🐷

A HUGE thank you to Reckless Love Ranch for helping rescue Waffles and graciously opening their beautiful ranch and hearts to foster him. Because of their love and commitment, Waffles has a second chance at LIFE!

TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED SAVE WAFFLES, THANK YOU! Whether you donated, shared, or advocated for him, YOU helped make this miracle possible!

Waffles saw a vet immediately after leaving the shelter. Despite battling an upper respiratory infection (URI), the vet confirmed that he is an otherwise healthy boy!

He’s approximately 3 years old and weighs 93 pounds! His URI is improving significantly, and we’re thrilled to announce that he’s been CLEARED for his neuter surgery, scheduled for THIS FRIDAY!

🚨 OUR WORK ISN’T DONE YET!

With his surgery scheduled for THIS FRIDAY, we still need donations to cover his veterinary expenses, surgery, and continued care.

As a 100% volunteer-run, donation-based rescue, every dollar helps us give heroes like Waffles the future they deserve!

🚨 FROM DEATH ROW TO A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE! 🚨

Just hours away from being euthanized at Devore Animal Shelter, Shaq was running out of time.

At the shelter, he was known as Shaq aka Inmate . But to us, he is now Waffles a beautiful, gentle giant whose life matters and who deserves a chance to be loved.

Sadly, his journey to recovery is just beginning. He left the shelter with an upper respiratory infection (URI) and needs immediate veterinary attention.

Waffle’s medical needs include:
🐾 A comprehensive veterinary examination
🐾 Continued treatment for his respiratory infection
🐾 Booster vaccinations
🐾 Neutering
🐾 Ongoing medical care to help him recover

❤️ A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO RECKLESS LOVE RANCH! ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful friends at Reckless Love Ranch for stepping up, transporting him out of the shelter, and welcoming him into their beautiful ranch as his foster home. Because of their compassion and willingness to help, Waffles now has a safe place to rest, recover, and experience the love he deserves. We couldn’t have done this without them!

Saving him from euthanasia was only the first step. Now comes the responsibility of providing the medical care he desperately needs.

As a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, SCARS relies entirely on donations from compassionate supporters like YOU. Every life we save comes with a financial commitment, and we cannot continue saying YES to dogs like Waffles without your help.

Please consider making a donation toward Waffle’s medical care. Whether large or small, every contribution helps us give this deserving boy the healthy new beginning he has waited for.
