I am very sorry for not keeping this page updated about Olive. Shortly after the tumor on the back of her neck was removed it grew back. I opted to leave it be and keep her comfortable until it was her time to go. She was such a sweet little rat lady and she is missed. ❤

I am sorry to everyone who messaged and received no response from me. I was going through some things and was not on social media. I am back but am very limited in what I can do. I am already at my max at the moment.

I recently took in 2 "vicious" males, Dale and Brennan. Dale and Brennan have been neutered and they are going to be introduced to my group of 7 lady rats and hopefully they will be one big happy group. The 7 ladies (and another group of 5 males) all came from the Peoria Rat Hoarding situation. Needless to say I am full right now. Did I mention I have roofers? Wildies. Roofies. Roof rats. I occasionally take in wildies as well. Well my 3 roof rats are now 4 years and 8 months old.

Olive made it through surgery and is doing really good! Sorry for the blood but I cannot clean it off her until her pain meds kick in as I was trying to a bit ago and I could tell it was sore. She is resting in the incubator with some baby food for the next few days. I am hoping I don't need to break out the e collar! Anyways just wanted to update you all. Thank you to everyone who shared and donated. Unfortunately I was still short $64 for the surgery but thankfully they are giving me some more time to pay it off.

Hi everyone. So Olive is scheduled to have her surgery on the 27th and I am still $113.16 short for it. If you are able to help at all we would truly appreciate it! He believes both are mammary tumors most likely but the one on her neck especially needs to come off ASAP due to the location. I am desperate for help as I cannot afford this on my own at all. Olive's cagemate Kate came along for moral support. And Olive was not ready to wake up yet as seen in photo #3. Lol. Thank you all to everyone who shared and donated. I will update again as soon as I can.

*Update* Sorry the exam is $61.75 not $70.00, so that helps! So far I have received an $18.00 donation so only need $43.75 more for her exam. Plus whatever treatment is suggested once he actually sees her.

Hi everyone. I truly hate to ask but I need help. Olive really needs to see our vet, Dr. Mangone. Olive was one of the 7 rats that we took in back in July that were found dumped in a neighborhood. Well I noticed a decent sized tumor underneath her right armpit which is most likely a benign mammary tumor BUT I also discovered a concerning looking mass on the back of her neck that feels very firmly attached and is worrying me. Olive is the sweetest little old rat lady and I am heartbroken. She is always the first to say "hi" and she has so much energy. I just am not able to afford to take her at the moment due to having to take one of our semi feral senior kitties to the vet. Any help is truly appreciated! I have an account at Palm Glen Animal Hospital and it is under the name Brux & Boggle Rat Rescue. They allow donations to be called in and credited to my account, fortunately. I am unsure how much it will cost as I cannot afford the exam fee to get a quote. Exotic animal exams alone are $70 there and plus whatever treatment they suggest on top of that. *ADOPTED!!!* 🎉

These 4 males were brought to me 10 days ago. All dehydrated and emaciated. They were abandoned in a motel room and were without water and food for at least 6 days. Originally there were 8 rats but 4 of them were already dead. Crosby, Stills, and Nash were able to escape the tubs they were kept in and find trash to eat. However Young was not able to escape the tub he was in. His 3 tubmates died and he had to eat the body of one of them just to survive. Sorry for the graphic description and I will spare you the graphic photos. Young was the most dehydrated and honestly I wasn't sure he would survive in the first few days he got here. Well 10 days on and these boys are doing wonderful. They are putting on weight and I would love to find a home for them together as they get along wonderfully. They are approximately 5 months old. On Monday I received a call that 7 rats were found walking around outside the previous Friday. They were able to be hand caught pretty easily by a young rat lover thankfully. Unfortunately when we went to go look to see if more were there several days had passed since those 7 were found and we didn't find any more. Which of course is not comforting to me because I can't help but wonder about others still possibly being out there. However the 7 that were caught are doing well. All appear to be littermates. Maybe a little over a year old. 5 males, 2 females. One of the females I believe is pregnant. 😥 3 of the 7 are missing about 1/3 of their tails. All seem pretty used to humans and several of them are quite licky. They all seem pretty healthy but had symptoms of parasites and were treated with Revolution. One of the males appears to be neutered though?! The people who caught them had the "neutered" male in with the females but I have since separated him from the girls due to the fact that I am not 100% certain on him being neutered and would never put intact males in with intact females as I am against breeding. With that being said I am completely full and am unable to take in any more rats until I get the adoptables here adopted out. *ADOPTION PENDING* Kelly, Jessie, Lisa. Kelly is approximately 7 months old and the mother to Jessie and Lisa (As well as Zack, Albert, and Clifford) who are almost 6 weeks old (Born 5/10/18). Jessie is a cream color, Lisa is black. They are sweet and curious little ladies.

*ADOPTED* Zack, Albert, Clifford. All three boys are almost 6 weeks old (Born 5/10/18). Zack is a cream color, Albert is a dark grey and white, Clifford is a brown and white. All sweet little men. *ADOPTED*

Adoption fee for each trio is $35.
