7 Ways to Keep Your Pet Safe During Hot Weather☀️

As temperatures rise, pets can become overheated much faster than we realize. Taking a few simple precautions can help prevent heat exhaustion, burned paws, dehydration, and other heat-related problems.

1. Always Provide Fresh Water
Make sure your pet has constant access to clean, cool water, both indoors and outdoors.

2. Schedule Walks During Cooler Hours
Avoid exercising your pet during the hottest part of the day. Early morning and evening walks are generally safer.

3. Protect Their Paws From Hot Surfaces
Asphalt and concrete can become extremely hot and may burn paw pads. Test the surface with the back of your hand before walking.

4. Never Leave a Pet in a Parked Car
The temperature inside a vehicle can rise dangerously fast, even when it doesn’t feel extremely hot outside.

5. Provide a Cool Place to Rest
Keep pets indoors in an air-conditioned or well-ventilated space whenever possible. Outdoors, make sure they have access to adequate shade.

6. Limit Strenuous Activity
Reduce running, extended play, and intense exercise on particularly hot or humid days.

7. Know the Signs of Overheating
