Took my Boombah to run a few errands todayπ I just kind of had gotten started with training bunnies to get used to going out in public when Covid hit. Of course when you are holding a bunny people are magnetized to you with outstretched hands, the opposite of what was to become the new socially acceptable public behaviour. The pandemic really threw a wrench in my plans to get things going for the rescue. I've had to completely re-think and change gears in regards to fundraising, it pretty much completely destroyed any chance at hosting larger adoption events at chain pet stores and made getting bunnies into new homes extremely difficult. It thrusted me way out of my comfort zone into areas where I have little to no experience, but somehow we've been able to keep helping these sweet little creatures. However we now need to scale our facilities to accommodate the need of so many bunnies I've had to keep turning away. I get calls and emails every single day from people who have found abandoned rabbits needing a safe place to go when their owners cast them out to fend for themselves in a frightening world they are not equipped too survive in, and they usually don't last long without human intervention! I ask you to please donate if you can, I know you probably hear this a lot but seriously, every penny means we are that much closer to saving another helpless rabbit and even if you can't, sharing these posts and helping shed light on the need for support for our rescue and many others fighting to help these adorable defenseless creatures find safe refuge in loving furever homes, is just as important!
