The girls learned more about driving this week with our new training horse, Beauty!

Horsemanship far exceeds the sport of riding.

Working on our horsemanship gives us an opportunity to dive deeply into relationships, self awareness, culture, and history.

Along the journey to become more keen horsemen and horsewomen, we are gifted the opportunity to learn from experienced horsemen, our peers, our experiences, and most importantly from the horse.

Horsewomen spend a fraction of their time in the saddle. Master horsemen and horsewomen seek excellence in all interactions with their horses including barn keeping, horse care, groundwork, trailer loading, tacking, and their own self awareness. Beyond these horsemanship skills, master horsewomen develop life skills that extend far beyond the barn!

The Golden Rule

The horse world is rich with opportunities to share ideas, make meaningful connections, and enjoy one another’s company.

Horses seem to attract unique, passionate, and talented people. Yet there can be so much gossip, comparison, and criticism amongst peers. Can you imagine how we could elevate the industry if we turned down the judgement and prioritized supporting one another instead?

I hope you’ll join us in this endeavor to walk through the horse industry with integrity, comraderie, and respect for others, horses and humans alike.

Some of my fondest childhood memories involve a foot of snow, full coveralls, and the smell of dirty horse hair against the clear cold air.

When you love something this much, winter won’t keep you away from it!
