Thank you so much for the overwhelming support, kind messages, and shared memories following our announcement about PAWS at the Mall. 💙

We wanted to provide a quick update: we are now in discussions with the new ownership regarding a potential future location for PAWS and hope to share more information as plans continue to develop.

We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support while we work through next steps. 💙

After more than 5 1/2 years, PAWS at the Mall will be closing its current location at the end of May. 💙

Since opening during COVID in 2020, PAWS became so much more than an adoption center. It became a place where children learned compassion, families made memories, volunteers connected with the community, and more than 2,500 animals found homes.

Beyond adoptions, PAWS also helped support the shelter through retail sales, donations, outreach opportunities, and increased visibility for animals often overlooked in traditional shelter settings.

While this chapter is coming to a close, we are incredibly grateful for the impact PAWS had on both the animals and the community over the past 5 1/2 years.

We know many questions are coming, including what happens next for the animals, programs, and future outreach efforts, and we’ll continue sharing updates as plans evolve.

Right now, the best way to help is by:

🌤️❄️ Happy Groundhog Day! ❄️🌤️

Today, all eyes are on the groundhog to see if he spots his shadow—but whether we get an early spring or six more weeks of winter, your pet’s health should always stay on schedule! 🐾

If winter sticks around, remember to protect pets from the cold with warm shelter, limited outdoor exposure, and cozy bedding. If spring arrives early, warmer temperatures mean fleas, ticks, and other pests will soon be more active—making prevention especially important.

🐶🐱 Groundhog Day is a great reminder that seasonal changes can impact your pet’s health and routine. Staying prepared helps keep them safe and comfortable no matter what the forecast says.

And while we appreciate the groundhog’s efforts… we still recommend trusting your veterinarian a little more than a rodent with weather predictions. 😉
