We have more than 75 cats and kittens currently under our care, and we are almost completely out of canned and dry kitten food.

We thought that we were almost through kitten season, but there has been a huge uptick in stray cats for our shelter and all of our community partners. The kittens have big appetites as they grow old enough to be adopted, and need to eat frequently throughout the day.

If you are in a position to send us any of these supplies, we would greatly appreciate it! You can find them at the top of our wish list, and they will be delivered directly to the shelter: https://bit.ly/hcshelterwishlist

For any in-person donations, you can bring them to 10421 Woodman Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060. You can drop off supplies inside the lobby or leave them by the front door if you come after hours.

If you want to support us but cannot donate any supplies, please share this post. Thank you so much in advance — your support directly helps animals in our community!

During an adoption event earlier this month, two of our pets were surprised with a double adoption!

Two folks adopted Zeus (previously called Croton) the day before our adoption event, and were scheduled to take him home the following week after his neuter procedure. They came to the Sunday pop-up to visit with Zeus, and all three of them instantly clicked with another dog, Pluto. By the end of the event, they adopted Pluto, too!

We're very happy to hear that Zeus and Pluto will remain a family in their shared fur-ever home after meeting at our shelter — congrats to them both! 🎉

These pop-ups are wonderful opportunities to meet all of our adoptable pets and see what their personalities are like. There are always a lot of purrs, wagging tails and big smiles during the events — come meet your new best friend this weekend!

Adopters must:
- Be 18 or older
- Have a valid photo ID
- Pay an adoption fee
**Adopters are not required to live in Henrico to adopt a pet from our shelter.**

You can view all of our pets online:
- PetFinder: https://www.petfinder.com/search/pets-for-adoption/...
- AdoptaPet: https://www.adoptapet.com/shelter/84283/available-pets

During our last event, five pets found their fur-ever homes: Congrats to dogs Marble, Pluto and Aster, as well as to two cats! Leading up to the event, Walker Texas Ranger and Henry were adopted on Thursday, Zoro was adopted on Friday, and Croton, Drucilla and Al were adopted on Saturday. Thank you to our staff, volunteers and community members for supporting animals in our community — we can't wait to see you this Sunday!
