The misty weather yesterday made for cooler temperatures that we all enjoyed.
Luna and Oberon’s pups are soon ready for new 🏠. 11 babies and Mom’s still her happy, playful self!
Luna reminds me of my Granny- she was one of those people who woke up humming and happy, busy in the kitchen making everyone else’s day start off right. ( I was never a morning person) Oberon let’s out that familiar sigh of ‘let me sit here 5 more minutes’ , then he leaves his ear rubs behind and is off to help with kiddos.
Perhaps I should have spent some time focusing on individual pictures/ footage of the babes but I am always interested in the parents of a perspective pup so I’m starting here.
Ask about Mom and Dad! I love to talk you about them. Yes, Oberon of Glasgow is a registered purebred English mastiff, however he is ALSO a WORKING dog. Raised alongside our Livestock guardians he has learned to actually guard! He completely amazed us this year when he come to husbands rescue. Robert Lobb had always proclaimed him a teddy bear till the day he saved him from 1100 pounds of charging hoof and horns. Shocked us all! He usually let’s the girls take the lead and make these decisions - Anyway he is strong, athletic, protective
and
a big baby! He snores, groans, loves to cuddle and will leave a bit of drool on you. 😝
Yes we health test!
Luna is forever happy! 1/2 English mastiff and 1/2 Pyrenees. Loves all the animals on the farm and loves her job watching over them. She’s got a mischievous side- being super smart gets her in trouble now and again. Opening gates and I find her and her critters at the back door 🚪 begging treats and cuddles. She’s a thinker. Puzzles are her specialty.
Instincts, drive, early experiences and exposure, nutrition, training.
So many things influence the type of dog your puppy will become.
I personally love a giant dog that can make decisions like knowing where and when they are needed and what actions are appropriate.
They are partners in our farm. Gentle and loving but with out a doubt ready to stand their ground for Nanna. Predators, all kinds, are everywhere. Protection is a necessity that has different applications for different people, be it running off coyotes or cuddling on the couch while hubbys at work.
