🍅MYTH: "Everything is organic"
🥦TRUTH: Some farmers use organic methods but aren’t certified due to cost or logistics. Others may not. That’s why asking vendors about their practices is the best way to know how your food is grown.
🍅MYTH: "Farmers markets are only for produce"
🥦TRUTH: Markets offer much more than fruits and veggies: think meats, eggs, baked goods, prepared meals, flowers, and handmade goods. They’re a great resource for all kinds of high-quality, fresh items.
🍅MYTH: "Farmers markets are only for foodies, or people who "know about" food"
🥦TRUTH: You don’t need to be a chef or foodie to shop at a market. Vendors love sharing how to store, prep, and cook what they grow: it’s part of what makes markets feel personal and welcoming. Farmers markets are for everyone.
