We are passionate about helping people feel what we have felt with dogs, because at the end of the day it’s not about a technique, it’s about a feeling, a relationship, and a connection that changes both ends of the leash.
The Method Dog Training was born from two dogmen searching for a way to evolve dog training for both the owner and the dog while still honoring the timeless principles that great dogmen before us built their foundations on.
Over time, the role of the dog has changed. Years ago, many training programs were designed specifically around field work, kennel dogs, or singular purposes. While those foundations still hold tremendous value, the expectations of today’s dog are completely different. Modern dogs are expected to live inside the home, travel with families, walk through crowded environments, settle calmly in public places, and coexist with the constant stimulation and pressure of everyday life.
We began asking ourselves:
How do we create a dog that can confidently navigate the modern world while also building a stronger relationship between the owner and the dog?
That search led to the development of The Method Dog Training.
The Method is not simply about obedience training or teaching commands. It is a complete communication system designed to help people better understand their dogs while teaching dogs how to work through pressure, boundaries, movement, problem solving, and accountability in a productive way.
The obstacle course became the centerpiece because it mirrors life itself. Every obstacle has purpose and meaning. The dog is constantly learning how to navigate pressure, make decisions, trust guidance, and communicate with the handler. At the same time, the owner is learning timing, awareness, body language, patience, leadership, and how to truly read their dog beyond simple behaviors.
Most people only focus on what the dog is doing. The Method teaches people to understand why the dog is doing it.
The course allows owners to physically see communication happening in real time. Instead of relying solely on repetition or correction, the dog begins to develop understanding through experience and relationship. The owner becomes more aware of their own movement, energy, consistency, and timing, all things dogs naturally read far better than humans realize.
What makes The Method different is that it is not something that only exists during a training session. It is designed to become a lifestyle.
Training should not be separated from everyday living. The relationship you build while working through the course should carry over into your walks, your home life, your routines, your boundaries, your adventures, and every interaction you have with your dog. The goal is not to create robotic obedience. The goal is to create a dog that understands how to exist calmly and confidently in the human world while maintaining clarity and trust in its handler.
We believe modern dog training should prepare dogs for modern life. At the end of the day, we are not just teaching obedience.
We are teaching people how to live with, understand, and communicate with their dogs on a deeper level. We want people to feel and experience what we have felt with our own dogs.
