From a young age, Gianna DeFort grew up surrounded by many dogs—usually at least five in the house. With her mother being a dog groomer, her life was always full of dogs, and she began helping to raise numerous puppies and handle adult dogs from the time she could walk.
At 16, Gianna got her first personal dog, Hamilton Jack, a French Bulldog. Hamilton developed many behavioral issues, which inspired Gianna to work tirelessly to help him. When she discovered the world she could offer him through training, she became hooked on giving all dogs the ability to live a full life through training. Over time, two shelter dogs also entered her life, each continuing to teach her new lessons about training and behavior.
Gianna obtained her CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed) while working at an animal shelter, where she trained shelter dogs, helped them find their perfect homes, and—most importantly—helped them stay in those homes.
From working with shelter dogs to training clients’ dogs in their homes, Gianna found her passion in helping people live their best lives with their dogs. Using science-based, positive reinforcement techniques, she trains dogs from all walks of life—from puppy basics to the toughest cases. Through positive methods, Gianna helps build stronger relationships between people and their dogs while teaching long-lasting behaviors.
