We know you'll be celebrating the holidays with your family, but don't forget, the nominations round for the Best of the Desert Awards is open through December 31st, and you can nominate, once per day by visiting https://azcentral.gannettcontests.com/2026-Best-of-the-Desert-Communitys-Choice-Awards/gallery/. Your support has elevated us to the winner for Best Shelter/Rescue in the East Valley and BARKtoberfest, our largest single day fundraiser annually, as Best Event and Best Fundraiser in the East Valley, for the past several years in a row! For a small rescue, powered by volunteers, this is a HUGE honor and allows us to spotlight our rescue, fundraising and community outreach programs (low cost spay/neuter and free semi annual micrchip and vaccine events). Please help us continue the winning tradition and thank you for your consideration!

PLEASE NOTE: We are very excited to begin accepting your donations December 29th, and are unable to accept them prior to that time because the Adoption Center is bursting at the seams with dogs and cats anxious to meet their forever family in time to celebrate the holidays. We have no storage space until the storage containers arrive on the 29th.

You might be thinking about settling in for your long winter's nap, but don't forget, Monday the 29th begins the big drop off for yard sale donations! We know you've been setting your items aside in anticipation of donating them to a great cause, and we're almost ready to accept them! Bring them over to the storage pods located in the parking lot at the Adoption Center, located at 952 W. Melody Ave in Gilbert and stack them outside the pod. Our volunteers will get them stored and keep them safe until the big sale January 22nd, 23rd and 24th. As a reminder, we accept everything aside from hygiene products and cosmetics. We're happy to find a new home for your unwanted items, and your donations are tax deductible! We'll see you next week!

These dogs are currently available for adoption or will be available very soon! Friends for Life is located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert, AZ. For dogs that are shown to be living at our adoption center, come on down and meet them during regular shelter hours. We OFTEN have dogs onsite that have not been photographed, so the best way to find a new forever friend is to come and see us!!! Click on the individual photos to read more about a dog!

You are welcome to submit an inquiry for more information about this dog, but please note that we strongly encourage potential adopters to come and see us in person and speak with an adoption counselor. We do our best to keep the bios updated online, but because each animal is different, things can change periodically. We do always require introductions with resident dogs, dogs that visit frequently, and all family members. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert. Hours: Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. You can also call during our open hours to inquire if an animal has been adopted yet (480-497-8296). Bali reminded us that the ONLY thing she put on the wish list she gave Santa over the weekend was a forever home of her own, in time to celebrate Christmas.
