Our black-coated dogs are suited up for their second chance, ready to impress their forever families.
But here’s the truth: dogs with black or mostly black coats are often overlooked in shelters, a phenomenon known as Black Dog Syndrome. 🐕🦺 Many of these loving, loyal pups have waited far too long simply because of the color of their fur.
And July? It’s a HOT month to be stuck wearing a black suit. 🥵

Throughout July 2025, we’re offering $200 off the adoption fee for any black dog whose coat is at least half black and who is over 6 months old. This special applies to both local and out-of-state adoptions.
These dogs may be dressed in formalwear, but they’re just looking for a home where they can finally relax, play, and be loved.
