He needs someone who is either a dog trainer, someone heavily experienced in GSDs or similiar breeds, or someone that already has a (balanced) trainer established.
He is an insecure guy that is a bit unsure of the world around him. His previous owner never advocated for him so he has learned to advocate for himself; which is fixable with time and forming a bond with him. He thrives on having a safety net and a safe person. This does not mean he's a bad dog– this just means he needs someone that is patient and aware of what comes with an adolescent GSD who was raised without structure, routine, neutrality. He needs to be worked; he needs to have a strict routine, proper exercise and mental stimulation, and a confident handler that will advocate for him. He needs guidance.
He is dog friendly, crate trained, outside kennel trained, good on leash, decent obedience.
He'd make one heck of a sport dog prospect! Definitely the type of dog you could do anything with. He has so much potential, so much promise.
