This is Cruiser, our biggest horse on the farm. Cruiser was a rescue horse named Cruise Control when his owner brought him home in 2010. Cruiser was diagnosed with uveitis shortly after. Uveitis is a painful eye disease that takes vision with each flare up and most people put animals down for this disease, but Cruiser is tough snd way too much of a sweet heart. When his vision was gone in that eye, it was then removed while standing up in his barn. His owner continued to ride cruiser natural horsemanship style, no bits just body language. They loved trail rides although cruiser could be a bit clumsy (I mean he does have some pretty big feet). He was always looking for food on the go, stealing cornstalks as they walked by corn fields. In the first picture of cruiser, this was before his final growth spurt. He grew about a half a hand in one winter! In the second picture you can find cruiser back home with his other friends, another draft a retired police horse, and a dwarf miniature horse that ran the barn. Ironically, cruiser freaked when he first saw that little guy! Here at Broadreach Cruiser is the mellow, mature, pack leader. He’s a great role model! And personally, my favorite trait is the heart on his forehead 😊
