We are having a problem making calls OUT of the office today. If you are expecting a call back you may get a response via email if we have one on file for you or a call from a blocked number which is our staff calling out from cell phones.
You may still call in and we will get the call.

Veterinary Technician/ Clinic Manager Melanie Breslawski-Gomez
As we close out tech week, I want to thank our clients for all the years of allowing us the privilege to care for your pets.
I believe veterinary medicine is so much more than a job. This is a calling.
You the clients, entrust us with the care of the most helpless and vulnerable member of your family, it is a joy to be given such a task. We cannot tell you enough the love, memories, learning experiences, and life experiences we have all had being a part of this Millersport Family.
I could not be more proud of my tech staff, support staff and our doctors.
I could not be more humbled by the grace and love of this community. All of you who have spoken words of kindness and encouragement, signed our card in the lobby, sent gifts to the office and offered your praise for my staff, you have lifted the spirits of some of the kindest, most genuine, hard working people I am privileged to know.
Thank you, Thank you.

I have been in vet med for 13 years as a tech at Millersport and adjunct instructor at Medaille College (years ago!)
My favorite animals to work on are big dogs
Best part of being a tech is the relationships we get to develope over years with clients and pets
Hardest part is helping owners through the process of saying goodbye- this never gets easier
I wish the public understood the vast knowledge and skills of veterinary technicians. We are highly educated professionals and in the wise wise words of 50 cent "if we can't do it, homie it can't be done" 😂
My favorite procedure is surgery/anesthesia, and pharmacology
I decided to become a vet tech because I wanted to have the daily joy of helping those who truly cannot help themselves.

Happy Tech Week 2024!!

Veterinary Technician Jenn Metz!

-Been in vetmed for 13 years, started as an assistant for 3 years during college before becoming an LVT
-Favorite animal to work on is dogs
-Best part of being a technician is treating and caring for animals while developing relationships with clients and their pets seeing them year after year
- Hardest part is treating the geriatric patients- esp the ones we have known since their first puppy/kitten appointment and euthanasias
- I wish people understood everything that we truly do in a days work for their animals. The long hours, the breaks we occasionally miss, the extra love and snuggles we give to hospitalized patients when their owners can't be there. That sometimes the workday doesn't just end when we leave for the day-we think of your fur babies when they're not feeling well even when we're home
-Favorite procedure is dentals, lion cuts and drawing blood
- Decided to become a veterinarian technician because of my love for animals and medicine- so why not combine the two?

Veterinary Technician Tyler Mayers!
For tech week this year, we asked our techs to share with us what they love about this job as well as the challenges and what they wish people knew about technicians!
Stay tuned to see all of our techs featured!
-Been in Vetmed for 9 years including Shelter medicine and TNVR clinics.
-Favorite animal to work on is Rescue Animals.
-Best part being a technician is helping patients get and stay healthy while educating owners on how to do so.
- Worst part is not being able to help a patient due to owners lack of finances or lack of owner compliance. Worst part is also working with patients for a long time and seeing them euthanized.
- I wish people understood that we aren't in it for the money since we don't make great money. Also we do it ALL, loading rooms, pharmacist, anesthesiologist, surgery tech, run testing, phlebotomist, restraining, client education, administer meds, hospitalize patients.
-Favorite procedure is draining abscesses and true emergencies.
- Decided to become a vet technician because I love helping animals.

On , we're sharing a few important reminders on the importance of microchips - such as:

➡ 1 in 3 family pets will get lost
➡ Microchipped dogs are more than twice as likely to be returned to their owners and microchipped cats are more than 20 times as likely to be returned to their owners

And remember - while microchips greatly increase the chances that pets will be reunited with their families if they are lost or stolen…a microchip only works if its registration information is accurate.
