“I’d love to do a board and train… but I don’t think I could send my dog away.”

I hear that all the time — and it’s totally understandable!

What I want owners to know is that your dog isn’t just boarding here. They’re learning, relaxing, and being cared for like part of the family. They get daily enrichment, play, training, and quiet time to decompress.

My goal is for every dog to feel happy, safe, and confident — and for you to feel the same. 🩵

This sweet boy just joined our Wild to Well-Mannered 3-week Board & Train program. Bailey’s got a big, rowdy personality, and we’re helping him channel all that energy into becoming a well-behaved, certified good boy.

When he’s not working hard on his training and mastering new commands, you’ll find him living his best life splashing around in the kiddie pool with his puppy pals. 🎓🌊

As we head into the hottest part of the summer, it’s super important to keep an eye on your furry friends and watch for signs of heat exhaustion. Dogs can overheat quickly, especially during walks or playtime.

🇺🇸 4th of July Dog Safety Tips! 🎆
Fireworks might be fun for us—but they can be terrifying for our dogs. Here are a few quick tips to help your pup feel safe and secure this holiday:

🐶 Keep your dog indoors
Even if they’re usually fine in the yard, loud booms and flashes can cause even the most confident dogs to bolt.

🕕 Give anxiety medication early
If your vet has prescribed meds for noise sensitivity, give them a few hours in advance—don’t wait for the fireworks to start. Timing is everything!

🎧 Create a calm environment
Close the windows, turn on calming music or white noise, and consider a crate or safe space where your dog feels secure.

🐾 Double-check ID tags & microchips
If your dog does get loose, clear and up-to-date ID could be what gets them home safely.

🦴 Distraction can help
Licking mats, puzzle feeders, or a favorite chew can give your dog something to focus on besides the noise.

I’d like to take a moment to introduce my amazing wife, Abby. ❤️

The saying goes, “Behind every successful man is a strong woman.” Well… she’s not just strong—she’s successful, compassionate, and absolutely essential to everything we do here at Wags and Wisdom.

From day one, Abby has believed in me and in the dream that built this business. She’s helped care for every single dog that’s come through our doors—showering them with the kind of love and patience any dog would be lucky to have.

She’s also an incredible trainer in her own right, working with her personal dog Zest and learning more every day alongside me and the pups we’re honored to work with.

So if you spot her in a video or out in the field—now you know the magic she brings. I truly couldn’t do this without her. Neither could Wags and Wisdom. 💛

We often get asked, “What treats are you using? My dog LOVES them!” — we are always happy to give recommendations but now we can order some for you too!

While we always support shopping local (and love scoring deals at places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls!), we’re also making it easier to get the exact products we trust and use during training. We’ll be placing orders this week for both Happy Howies and Redbarn.
