I am wanting to build something like this in honor of some of the fur babies that have crossed paths with us here at the shelter.

Would anyone want to help do this? I think it would be an amazing thing to have outside of our shelter so we can give back to the community that pours so much love into us.

Good morning everyone! It is a new day.. and we have a new pup ready for his new home!!

This is Bowser. Bowser is Rue’s brother and he is devastated over losing his baby sister. However, this little ball of light is such a sweet boy!! He loves to play and hear his own voice. He has recently been fixed and vaccinated! We are unsure of his breed.

He is only a couple months old, and full of energy! He is working on potty training but he is so smart and he’s getting the hang of everything here. He is the cutest boy who would make such a good addition to any family.

We are deeply saddened to say that our sweet Rue crossed the rainbow bridge today.

According to the vet, Rue had a chronic skin condition that would’ve never gotten better. Her skin didn’t respond to her medication and Doc gave us insight into what it would be like if we chose to keep her alive. She would’ve been in much pain, and it wouldn’t be fair for her to live like that. It would have also been so expensive, we didn’t want to put that on anyone either, all for it to never even treat it.

We are truly devastated. Rue was just a young pup who didn’t have a good start in life. She was found with this skin condition, skin and bones, and all hope lost. We hope that everyone knows that Rue was so loved in our shelter and had a blast playing with her bubba.

This just goes to show how many irresponsible owners there are. As a community.. we need to stand up and be the voices for those like Rue. She never got a chance because of someone let her down. Please speak up. Please hold people accountable.

And please, remember we are just volunteers. We carry this harder than anyone else. We try our best to do what is right by them. That’s all we care about is their well-being. If you don’t like it, please take our keys.

We want to take the time today and give such a huge shoutout to those ALWAYS helping us. Our shelter could not run the way it does without our volunteers.

Jamie, my mom, is the lady that runs this place! She puts her heart and soul into this shelter and it absolutely has shown over the years. So many animals have been saved because of her dedication and service to our small town shelter. Every single pet that has come through has loved her and seen her every single day!

Jennifer is another lovely volunteer! She helps us transport, she listens to my mom stress about everything (this is big job lol), and she’s always there when we need her. Jennifer and her kids are such an asset to our shelter.. we really appreciate her SO MUCH.

Kevin usually does the afternoon shift. He’s given my mom much needed breaks and the dogs absolutely love him. We usually have dogs that don’t like men, but Kevin has always been an exception for them.. they love their Kevin and we know if they could talk, they would tell us all the time! Thank you Kevin!

Heather has recently started helping out, and she even adopted our little Pip!! (I said it was mandatory if she wanted to volunteer) But she helps my mom out at nights and she even takes the dogs out for walks!! Keeping them exercised and healthy is such an important part. Thank you Heather!

Ursula is our good friend that helps us out when needed too. She recently transported our new pup to the shelter and we couldn’t be more thankful. She always keeps us in mind and never hesitates to help. Thank you Ursula!

My little cousin, Mckenzie and her boyfriend Jayden are always our happy helpers too. They transport, build dog beds, and always come to visit the dogs when they need some socializing!! We appreciate you two so much!!

We would also like to thank each and everyone one of those who supports our social media, donates to us, and is always there when we call. Your generosity shines through our shelter.. whether that be with vet bills, food, blankets, beds, collars, leashes… we couldn’t do it without you. We are absolutely so thankful for everything we receive and all the love we get.

Thank you to those who have adopted from us and have changed lives. We wouldnt operate without kind souls that open their homes to our animals. We truly, truly, truly appreciate you for choosing adoption!!

For everyone that hasn’t heard the good news… Goro.. now known as Homer or HOMIE, because he is HOME!!

That’s right, our big boy has officially been adopted. Homie has found his peeps and he couldn’t be happier. He made himself right at home.. and right into the hearts of his new family.

This is why we do it. All the hard work, all the donations, all the praying.. we couldn’t be more thankful. This is the good side of rescue. This is what makes it all worth it ❤️

Our sweet Goro had gone to a home the other day.. and as amazing as he was, he is being returned due to the landlord not allowing his size. Please keep Goro in your thoughts and prayers, I know he will be very sad coming back but we still have hope in his future ❤️

Just a really good reminder for those that are newer to adopting a shelter dog.

These babies have been through things that we may never understand. They’re new to this too. Please be patient and kind.. they will give their hearts to those they trust ❤️

Thank you to those who have been so helpful to us over the years. We always get animals dumped on us.. but thanks to wonderful donors and Chambers Veterinary Clinic we are able to get them healthy and started on their healing processes.

We have had such immense support that we couldn’t be more thankful for. We want everyone to know we sincerely are so grateful for the donations and words of encouragement always sent to us.

Our volunteers work their butts off for these guys here.. and we couldn’t do it without YOU.
