To say we’ve been busy since our first litter in January would be an understatement. In just five short months, we welcomed five beautiful litters into the world — more than we’ve ever had in such a brief season. It has been a journey filled with unforgettable highs and some very emotional lows, including an emergency c-section and the bittersweet arrival of the final litter from our beloved Pearl.
One of the hardest parts of breeding dogs is knowing when it’s time to retire the incredible mamas who have given so much of themselves. There is an ache that comes with closing that chapter, but also so much comfort in knowing they now get to spend their days being pampered, adored, and living the peaceful life they so deeply deserve after bringing immeasurable joy to so many families.
Through every sleepless night, every tiny paw, and every goodbye, we have had the privilege of meeting some truly extraordinary people. Our hearts have been deeply touched by the families who understand the incredible power a dog has to heal hearts, bring comfort, and change lives in the most beautiful ways. Watching these puppies become cherished members of loving homes is something we will never take for granted.
We are undeniably exhausted and very ready for a little rest — thankfully, no puppies are expected until the end of summer — but even in the exhaustion, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. Thank you to every family who has trusted us and chosen a Doodle Patch puppy to love. Your support, kindness, and the stories you share with us mean more than words could ever express. We are endlessly grateful to be a small part of your lives and your families’ stories.
