Hello Everyone! It’s time for another BB’s Tidbit from me! Ms. Doctor Professor BB.

Our longest resident Mulligan has recently gotten back from training and I want to say something about him and show him off.

He did amazing while at training, and continues to be awesome here at the shelter. When the trainers showed his training to my servants, it was easy to understand, and was easy to practice. All the credit goes to Allegiance Canine for working with him and getting him to where anyone could learn how to work with him. My servants at the shelter will be very happy to teach any potenial fosters/adopters on his new tricks. The Germantown Animal Shelter wants him to succeed where ever he goes, so we are very happy to help with future trainings should he need it.

Shelter staff will be bringing him to an adoption event this Saturday 5/30/2026 to show him off. It will be held at the Arlington Tractor Supply, located on HWY 64 across the street from the SONIC. We invite everyone to come out and see him, give him loves, and hopefully talk about fostering/ adopting.

His adoption fee will be sponsored and you could also leave with even more goodies if you’re ready for this furry roommate.
Of course we shout out Allegiance Canine for all the help with Mulligan. He wouldn’t be the bestest boy that he is if they hadn’t helped us out.

Attached is a video that shoes my dad working with Mulligan after being shown how to. If he can do it, then anybody can! Shout out to Jessie Lynn Sidle for the beautiful poster she made for him!

Until next time.

As you may have heard, Germantown Lemonade Stand Day is coming up on Saturday, June 13. As with past events, half of the proceeds raised at each stand will benefit the Germantown Education Foundation, while the other half will support a charity chosen by the stand sponsor.

If you are thinking about participating, registration has been extended through May 30, and Friends of the Germantown Animal Shelter would be honored to be your charity partner.

Donations directly benefit the shelter and help provide items such as Kuranda beds, toys, treats and foster support for dogs and cats in our care.

Friends of the Germantown Animal Shelter is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donation receipts are available upon request.

For more information, contact Steve Morley at (901) 826-7123. Thank you for supporting the animals of Germantown.

It’s kitten season at the Germantown Animal Shelter, and while we would love for every cat and kitten to find a local home, some will travel out of town through rescue transport programs.

To make that possible, each cat or kitten must have its own hard-sided carrier for transport. If you have a small carrier you no longer need, we would greatly appreciate the donation.

Carriers can be dropped off at the shelter, 7700 Southern Avenue, or Steve Morley can pick them up. Please call or text (901) 826-7123. As long as the carrier is in good condition and has a front gate, we can prepare it for use.

Thank you for supporting our shelter pets!

Hello Everyone! It’s time for another BB’s Tidbit from me! Ms. Doctor Professor BB.

Have you ever wanted a new pup, but were scared of making that forever commitment. Well look no further then coming down to the Germantown Animal Shelter and talking to my servants about fostering. We even recommend you take one of our special pups for a weekend test drive!

Shelter staff knows that adding a new furry friend to your family can be a big decision, so my servants at the shelter would love to help you out! We have a lot of great success stories of people coming in, seeing a dog they like, but are unsure if they are ready to take the plunge. However after a weekend trip they turn that temporary moment into a lifetime of happiness. If it doesn’t work out that’s ok to. Shelter staff learns more about the dog, and how they do in a house setting. Even if it isn’t a good fit, it only helps my fellow pups. They got out of the shelter, and it helps strength their adoption profile.

Some of the special pups that can be taken for a test trail is the handsome Dudle the Poodle, and Roomie the Chocolate Lab!

If you’re interested in fostering, or just taking a pup for the weekend to show off then call us at 901-757-7358. All of my human servants would love to help you. We also encourage you to come up to the shelter and look around. My servants would love to show off the pups!

Also!!! Feel free to ask about our special boy Mulligan. He will be coming back from training next week, and really could use a foster to help keep his training going. Be on the lookout as we update everyone on his process Thursday.
Until next time!

Hello Everyone! It’s time for another BB’s Tidbit from me! Ms. Doctor Professor BB.

Our bestest boy Mulligan has been hard at work this last week. Thanks to Allegiance Canine for all the help they have given in the help of training our longest resident.

My servants have received some updated videos that have documented Mulligan’s training so far, so we wanted to show him off. He is doing great!

Once again shout out to Allegiance Canine for all the hard work they are doing for Mulligan.

We’re excited to share a special addition at the Germantown Animal Shelter!

Girl Scout Troop 10622 recently installed a Little Free Library right here at the shelter and presented a $500 donation from their cookie sales. This thoughtful project supports our read-to-the-animals program, giving young visitors a chance to read aloud while helping our pets feel more comfortable and social.

The new library makes it easy for families to grab a book, spend time reading and connect with animals waiting for their forever homes. 💙

Thank you to Troop 10622 for your hard work and heart for our shelter pets! Who’s ready to come read with our furry friends? 🐾

Mother’s Day is just a week away. If you’re looking for a meaningful gift, consider honoring someone special with a commemorative brick at the Germantown Animal Shelter.

These personalized bricks are installed at the shelter entrance, creating a lasting tribute that visitors see every day. It’s a thoughtful way to celebrate a mother, remember a loved one or recognize someone who has made a difference in your life.

Each brick is $75 and includes up to three lines of text (20 characters per line). You’ll also receive a custom certificate to present as a gift.

Applications are available at the Germantown Animal Shelter, 7700 Southern Avenue. To request one, contact Steve Morley at (901) 826-7123 or [email protected].

Proceeds from every brick directly support the animals in our care.

Hello Everyone! It’s time for another BB’s Tidbit from me! Ms. Doctor Professor BB.

Thanks to our non-profit group Friends of the Germantown Animal Shelter, my servants at the shelter are able to provide specific care to our animals that might go above the normal day to day care of my fellow four legged critters. One of those things is to send some of the shelters residents to training.

Our longest resident Mulligan has been a delight to everyone that has come into contact with him. However he has some issues with his canine neighbors that was causing him to get overlooked. So shelter staffed reached out to their friends group and they recommend us a facility that could help him out. That facility was Allegiance Canine. My servants Josh and Landon, as well as our lovely friend's group member Eileen met with them last week and discussed how they could help us. After meeting Mulligan, they decided that they would love to help us out. So the following Monday, I occupied my servants as they took him in for 3 weeks of training.

We were informed that we will be getting updates as soon as there are some! So look out for more of my tidbits which will have some great stuff on the lovely Mulligan. Until next time!!!

Kitten season is upon us once again! This little guy came to us on Thursday afternoon in a box after he had been without his mother for hours. He seems really healthy. At least he has a huge appetite! If we have any of our fosters seeing this who are comfortable with bottle babies, here is a tiny one that needs your help. Please contact us if you can help!
