Most people who scoop their own yard aren't doing anything wrong. They're just going by feel instead of a schedule, and that's where things stack up.

The yard doesn't fill on a timeline you notice. One dog means waste landing every single day, whether you're tracking it or not. Skip a couple of days and it's not a little behind, it's a pile. Then scooping feels like a big job, which makes it easier to push to the next weekend.

In July in Central Texas, that gap matters more. Heat moves fast on what's sitting out there.

The fix isn't more effort. It's a fixed cadence. When it happens on a set day every week, the yard never builds up enough to feel like a project. That's the whole thing.

Fresh Start runs on a schedule that doesn't depend on your week cooperating. You get a reminder text the day before and another when we're on the way. You don't have to be home. After every visit, you get a photo of the latched gate so you know the yard is secure.

The yard stays clean going into the weekend because it got handled mid-week. That's it.

Someone you don't know is walking into your backyard while you're at work. That's just how this kind of service works.

So the details matter. Our techs arrive in a marked Fresh Start vehicle, in uniform, so your neighbors aren't left guessing and you can confirm at a glance that the right person showed up. Every technician is also background-checked and trained before they ever touch a gate latch.

Speaking of gates: after every visit, you get a text with a photo of your latched gate. Not a "we're done" message you have to trust blindly... an actual photo of the actual latch, closed. You also get a heads-up text the day before your visit and another when the tech is on the way.

One more thing worth knowing: our techs are trained to notice when something in your dog's waste looks off and they'll flag it for you. They're not vets, but they're looking at your yard every week, and that kind of regular eye on things can matter.

Clean yard, secured gate, photo proof, and you never have to be home for any of it.

If you've spotted a ring of mushrooms or a weird pale patch near your dog's favorite corner of the yard, it's not random.

Fungus follows food and moisture. When waste breaks down in one concentrated spot, especially after a Central Texas summer rain followed by two days of ninety-degree heat, that corner becomes exactly the kind of warm, damp environment where fungus moves in and spreads.

Pulling the mushrooms helps for a day or two. But they come back because the thing feeding them is still there.

A consistent pickup schedule is what actually changes the math. When that corner gets cleared every week, the material that feeds the fungus stops building up. The ground gets a chance to dry between rains instead of staying damp underneath.

One more note if you have a dog who eats anything he finds: knock mushrooms down when you see them, and if you think your dog actually ate one, call your vet. Do not try to figure it out yourself.

Fresh Start handles the pickup on a set schedule so that spot never gets a steady supply of what it needs to become a problem. We haul the waste away completely, not left in your bins.

Not every scooping service works the same way, and a few details are worth knowing before you book one.

The gate is the big one. When someone's in your backyard while you're at work, you want to know it was latched when they left. We text you a photo of the closed gate after every visit. Not a message, an actual picture.

Weather policy matters too. If a storm rolls through and we can't safely complete your visit, we move it to the next available day. You're only charged for service that actually gets done.

And the equipment question is one most people never think to ask: does the gear get sanitized between yards? It should. Ours gets a disinfectant spray and wipe-down before we move to the next stop.

Three straightforward questions. Any service worth booking should have clear answers to all of them.

Twenty minutes of scooping doesn't sound like much. But it's twenty minutes on a Saturday morning, in July, in Central Texas heat. That's a different kind of twenty minutes than a Tuesday at your desk.

The math most people run is: service cost versus a box of bags. But that's not the real trade. The real trade is the service versus your Saturday plus the mental tracking that runs all week. Remembering to buy bags. The "I should get to the yard before anyone comes over." The whole low-grade thing sitting in the back of your head.

When we take it over, that's what actually clears. You get a reminder text the day before, a heads-up when the tech is on the way, and a photo of the latched gate when it's done. The waste is hauled off, not left in your bin.

Weekly works for most one-dog yards. Two or more dogs, twice a week keeps it from building up. Lighter use, bi-weekly might be the right fit.

Run the real numbers. Most people find it comes out differently than they expected.

You don't have to be home for us to scoop your yard. That's the whole point.

The day before your visit, you get a reminder text. On service day, you get an on-the-way text before your technician heads over. Then after the visit, we send you a photo of your latched gate so you can see it's closed and your dog is safe inside.

That last part matters more than it sounds. The gate photo isn't a formality. It's the one thing most people are actually thinking about when someone's in their backyard while they're gone.

You can be at work in Cedar Park, running errands, or just busy with the rest of your day. The yard gets cleared, the waste gets bagged and hauled away, and your gate stays latched. You never had to be there for any of it.

No contracts, no monthly fees, no "cancel by such-and-such date" fine print.

With Fresh Start, you pay after each visit is done. That's the whole billing setup. If we skip a visit because a Central Texas thunderstorm rolls through, you don't pay for that one either.

Most customers land on a weekly schedule and just leave it there. The yard stays clean, they stop thinking about it. Multi-dog households sometimes start weekly and bump up to twice a week when they realize how fast it adds up. One-time cleanups are there too, no commitment, just a full yard cleanup before a party or a move.

Every tech is background-checked, uniformed, and insured. After every visit you get a photo of your latched gate so you know the yard is secure without having to check yourself.

No signature required. Just a clean yard on the schedule that works for you.
