Jethro and Jed were reunited tonight. It was so cute. They genuinely are buddies. Of course each had to smell the other’s surgery spot. “Oh wow! That happened to you, too?” 🤣

Our personal donkey, Toaster Strudel, spent last night and most of today in a stall due to ouchy feet. When I let her out, this was her reunion with her mom, Poptart. I think she was more excited to see mom than vice versa 😂. Gidget was honking her happiness to have one of her herd members back. This is how much donkeys can form bonds with each other.

We love all of our adopters, but this adopter is pretty amazing! We delivered 3 donkeys and a miniature horse to such a terrific home. They hit the lottery for sure! Congratulations to Queso, Coal, Taki and Sake! They are already loving their new home. 🩷💙🩵💜

A busy day here at the rescue. We had a wonderful group, The Black Hats Social Committee, come meet the donkeys. We are grateful that they chose our rescue to sponsor this year!After their visit, our farrier Jon came and trimmed for us. We have 4 donkeys leaving for their new home tomorrow! I’m so excited for their future. Coal and Taki got groomed so they can be ready in the morning.

These girls are officially ready to be adopted!

Meet Wilma and Pebbles-

This sweet mother and daughter pair are only available as a bonded pair. They love attention, and are very easy to catch. They can lead and tie. They are up to date on vaccines, dewormers, and farrier.

Both girls (Wilma more so than Pebbles) have broken crests- this does NOT impact their health at all, it is just a result of past nutritional mismanagement. These girls cannot be let loose on lush grass- a dry lot would be ideal, or muzzling/stalling. Pebbles does have a club foot, but she is sound.

A gorgeous evening here in the Bluegrass. For those who have been following Jed and Jethro’s story, they seem to be so much better! Thank you to everyone that donated to their care! Both boys will finish their meds, and hopefully continue to gain weight. We couldn’t have saved these boys without your help!
