I am working diligently to port over information, everyone will have to sign paperwork again this is now a department within Live Oak County Veterinary Services.

As such all checks should be made payable to the clinic if you are paying with check. We are keeping the same software but due to it being under LOCVS it is a new account, so starting from scratch. Please be patient through this process, and thank you so much for your continued support 🥰

The clinic and I work so well as a team it made more sense for me to integrate and let go of the overhead headaches. Now I can just focus solely on what I love, being a coat steward or (ye ole pet stylist) 😅 I like to go above and beyond just a cut and wash, this will give me more time to spend on the newer skills I’m taking on and bringing in.

🐾 The Coat Steward’s Daily Tips: The Power of the Pause 🐾

The highest compliment I can receive as a Steward isn’t a tip—it’s a nap.
Meet Fin.
Usually, Fin is a beautiful whirlwind of energy, always on the move. But yesterday in the Sanctuary, something shifted. Fin didn't just settle; he fell completely asleep right on the grooming table. 💤
In a world that wants to rush, I choose a different pace. When we treat our animal kin as equal spirits and provide a calm, grounded environment, the "hyper" melts away into pure trust.
✨ Today’s Steward Tip:

The Invitation
Calm isn't something you force on your companion; it’s an environment you invite them into.

Next time you go to brush your dog at home, try this:

1. Check your own breath. If you’re rushed or stressed, they’ll feel it.

2. The "Greeting": Offer the brush to them first. Let them sniff it and acknowledge the intent.

3. Wait for the sigh. Once they settle, then you begin.

Watch how much more they enjoy the process when they feel like a partner in it. 🌿✨

I’m making a switch, kwik stop is what all us professionals use when we go too short on the nails. Though it says it has pain reliever in it, I have noticed it seems to sting.

I have been studying herbalism intently and have formulated my own version Serene Seal.

This is made with Yarrow leaves and flowers to stop the bleeding , and a pinch of lavender to soothe.

All natural no chemicals, and available to purchase if any other professionals would like to try it out or switch.

I know this isn’t Missouri but we are going into freezing temperatures 🥶

Their natural fur coat only does so much and down here we are all use to warmer weather.

❄️ COLD WEATHER IS COMING — PLEASE BRING PETS INSIDE ❄️

As temperatures drop across Missouri, outdoor animals are at serious risk. Freezing weather can become deadly in minutes — especially for dogs who are chained, elderly, small, sick, or exposed to wind and moisture.

At Mac’s Mission, we specialize in special — and every winter we see the heartbreaking results when animals are left outside with no protection.

🐾 Winter Safety Tips for Pets:
• Bring pets indoors whenever temperatures fall below 40°F
• Never rely on dog houses or straw alone — they are NOT enough
• Provide fresh, unfrozen water at all times
• Increase food intake for animals burning extra calories to stay warm
• Check paws for ice, salt, and cracking
• Watch for signs of hypothermia: shivering, lethargy, weakness
If you’re cold — they’re cold.

🚨 To report animal neglect in Missouri:
📞 Missouri Animal Cruelty Hotline: 314-647-4400
Please don’t look away. Be their voice when they don’t have one.

❤️ Mac’s Mission specializes in SPECIAL — and winter is when they need us most.
