• For those looking for a safe place to board your horse, please see the below language that will be incorporated into all boarding contracts....We have 8 stalls available. Please reach out to secure your stall. We provide 6 lbs of feed, 20 lbs of hay and 8-12 hours of day or night turn out. We also have a covered arena for inclement weather!!

Sale of Property. In the event that the Silver Springs property is sold, transferred, or otherwise conveyed and the Horse is required to vacate the property as a result, Owner agrees to provide Boarder with a minimum of sixty (60) days’ prior written notice. During such sixty (60) day notice period, the existing boarding fee and terms of the Boarding Agreement shall remain in effect, provided Boarder continues to fulfill her obligations under the agreement.

• Transfer of Owner. In the event that the Silver Springs property is transferred to or purchased by a new owner who continues to operate or offer boarding services at the property, the existing monthly boarding fee and all existing terms of the Boarding Agreement, as amended by this Addendum, shall remain in full force and effect for ninety (90) days following the transfer of ownership. During such ninety (90) day period, the new owner shall honor the existing boarding terms. Prior to the expiration of the ninety (90) day period, the new owner and Boarder may negotiate and execute a new boarding agreement. Any modification or replacement of the existing terms shall require the mutual written agreement of the new owner and Boarder.

Bute vs. Banamine: What’s the Difference? 🐴💊

One of the most common questions we get is, “Should my horse get Bute or Banamine?” While both medications are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), they work a little differently and are best suited for different conditions.

🐎 Phenylbutazone (Bute) is our go-to medication for musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. It works exceptionally well for conditions involving the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Horses with arthritis, laminitis, soft tissue injuries, or general orthopedic soreness often respond better to Bute because it provides excellent pain relief for the musculoskeletal system.

🐎 Flunixin Meglumine (Banamine) is generally our first choice for visceral pain—pain originating from the internal organs. This makes it the preferred medication for horses experiencing colic, as it is very effective at controlling intestinal pain. Banamine also has strong anti-endotoxic effects, making it an important part of treating serious infections, pneumonia, pleuropneumonia, colitis, endotoxemia, and severe inflammatory conditions. It can also be helpful for certain eye conditions, such as uveitis.

While there is some overlap between these medications, we typically choose Bute for orthopedic pain and Banamine for colic, fever, and systemic inflammatory disease. They should not be given together unless specifically directed by your veterinarian, as combining NSAIDs significantly increases the risk of stomach ulcers, right dorsal colitis, and kidney injury.

Every horse and every condition is different. Choosing the right medication—and using the correct dose for the appropriate length of time—is an important part of keeping your horse safe while providing the best possible pain relief. As always, consult your veterinarian for medication guidance and instructions!
