Moving into 2025
Happy New Year! The doctors and staff at Coryell Veterinary Clinic would like to say THANK YOU! to our fantastic clients and your animals -our patients, for another great year in 2024. We appreciate your support and you’re allowing us to continue to grow and more successfully care for the animals in Coryell County and the surrounding areas. In 2024, we were able to provide care for 23,000 patients, or an average of 77 patients per day. We are truly grateful for all that has gone into being able to serve our community at that level of involvement. Over the last 2 decades we have seen our practice grow dramatically. This growth has been despite a couple of significant national and local economic down turns, a grueling global pandemic which ground our lives to a halt, and an area wide shortage of veterinarians and veterinary staff.
We look forward to a successful and blessed 2025, serving our clients with continued, superior animal care.
Moving into 2025, however, we are presently falling victim to the shortage of available, full-time veterinarians in central Texas.
Having such a large staff of veterinarians over the past 15 years has allowed us to fulfill one of the basic pillars of our practice that sets us apart from others in the central Texas area, the pillar of availability. Our availability has allowed us to offer extended hours (early morning start times, evening hours) after hours emergency calls and Saturday hours. Availability has allowed us to experience exponential growth and we recognize that. However, as we experience a shortage of veterinarians, our availability will unfortunately be affected.
Having a large staff of veterinarians also allows us to offer multi-species services including dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep and goat, pigs, small exotics and large exotics/ wildlife. Unfortunately, our ability to offer such an extensive range of multi-species services will be reduced as well.
There are other major pillars that make us successful, and these will never change regardless of the number of veterinarians and staff we employee. Those pillars are:
1. Quality medical, surgical, diagnostic and wellness care - the best in the area
2. Caring, knowledgeable, communicative veterinarians and staff – likewise, the best in the area
3. Highest quality equipment and the latest technology to treat your animals in a timely, accurate fashion
4. A constant awareness of the expense that taking care of animals involves, and striving to keep it affordable
For 2025, please make note of the following changes:
A. Regarding species seen, until further notice, Coryell Veterinary Clinic will be exclusively small animal, seeing only dogs and cats.
B. Regarding availability, until further notice:
Days open: Monday – Friday (no longer on Saturday morning)
Hours: 9 am – 5 pm
Walik-ins: Along with appointments, we will continue to see walk-ins – but on a more limited basis.
Emergencies: We will, of course, continue to see emergencies during our normal business hours
C. We no longer take after hours call, but we wholeheartedly recommend The Animal Emergency Center of Temple- Belton and the Waco Animal Emergency Clinic for your after hours needs, as we always have.
D. We will continue to board your pets
Thanks for reading this unusually long post. We appreciate your business and will continue to work extraordinarily hard to see as many patients as possible. Previously scheduled appointments requiring rescheduling have already been contacted and changes made. If you had one and haven’t heard from us, please call, or email us. Also, I will not be responding to posted questions or comments. If you have questions, please call, or email the clinic. 254-865-7946. [email protected]. If a commonly occurring questions or comments arise, I will post regarding them.
Thanks, Dr. Mabry
