PSA for dog owners: spear grass is not just “itchy grass.” These sharp grass seeds are designed to burrow and they can work their way deep into your dog’s body.

We see dogs pick these up constantly during walks, hikes, field work, and even in backyards this time of year. A tiny piece can lead to:
• Painful infections
• Swelling/abscesses
• Ear issues
• Eye injuries
• Emergency surgery in severe cases

After outdoor time, take two minutes to check your dog over. Prevention is a whole lot cheaper and easier than treatment. 🌾

Buddy is learning that being dramatic pays well 💥🐾

We’re just starting to teach his “play dead” trick, starting with luring then using a little spatial pressure to help create the movement and understanding first. Right now it’s more of a gentle flop onto his shoulder than a full dramatic scene… but as he starts understanding the game better, the drama will come. 😂

Titan is still a young dog, and young dogs aren’t supposed to be perfect, but they are supposed to be learning.

That only happens when we meet them in the middle: giving them patience while they work through distractions, but also being consistent enough that expectations don’t change from day to day.

In this session, Titan worked through a high distraction with the neighbor’s dog and was able to come back and make better choices. That doesn’t happen by accident, it comes from clear guidance and follow-through.

Young dogs will test boundaries. It’s our job to make sure those boundaries stay clear so they can keep improving instead of getting stuck.

Calm, loose leashes, and everyone just… existing without chaos. Turns out dogs do a lot better when the expectations are actually clear.
