✨ From Forgotten to Forever Loved ✨

We wanted to share an update on one of our recent cruelty case rescues. Kylie was seized after being kept in truly disgusting conditions and crammed into a crate with two other dogs, with no space, no comfort, and no care.

Today, her life looks completely different. Kylie now has her own soft bed, her own toys, and most importantly, the love and kindness she deserves. She’s finally living the good life 🐾💖.

This transformation is why we do what we do. And it’s only possible because of the support from our community, partners, and everyone who stands with us against animal cruelty. Thank you for helping give Kylie a second chance.

Kylie’s brothers and sisters are still here at the shelter waiting for their forever homes: Duke (A283805), Dash (A283806), Kallie (A283807), and Khakis (A283808). They’re just as ready for love and a new beginning as Kylie was.

Even though it rained yesterday, it didn’t rain on our parade! Our team was out at the Garland Central Library hosting a microchip clinic, helping citizens, answering questions, and sharing tips on responsible pet ownership. 🐾📚

We’re excited to share that we administered 10 microchips and educated families on how small steps like this make a big difference in keeping pets safe. ✅ That’s what responsible pet ownership looks like making sure your furry family members can always find their way home. 💕

Another busy lifesaving day—and all we managed to snap was this one picture!

🚐 Today, we transported 27 cats from the Corsicana Animal Shelter to the Garland Animal Shelter & Adoption Center. Thanks to a grant from Best Friends Animal Society, every one of them will be sterilized, vaccinated, and made ready for adoption by the awesome staff at Garland.

If this feels like déjà vu, you’re right—we just transported 26 cats last week, and they’ve already been placed! So here we are with round two in August.

✨ That’s 53 cats saved in just one week.

💙 This is the power of partnership—when organizations work together, lives are saved.

🐾✨ Bianca: 446 Days of Waiting for Love ✨🐾

These past few weeks have been amazing—several of our long-term residents finally found their forever families after months of waiting. 💕 Watching them leave for new beginnings has filled our hearts with so much hope and joy.

Now, it’s Bianca’s turn. 🐶 This 2.5-year-old girl has been with us since May 30, 2024—that’s 446 days of waiting for her second chance. Bianca is bursting with personality! Energetic, funny, sassy, and incredibly smart, she’s looking for an experienced family ready to continue her training and help her thrive. She’s made huge strides in her confidence, but she still needs active management when meeting new people. Bianca isn’t a patio restaurant pup she shines in calm, structured environments where she feels safe and successful.

Bianca LOVES other dogs and would do best with a playful canine buddy. She’s house-trained, doggy door-trained, kennel-trained, and her absolute favorite game is frisbee! 🥏 She knows basic commands, hand signals, and responds beautifully to her training cues.

To make her transition even smoother, Bianca’s dedicated trainer, Kristie from Lead With Love Dog Training, LLC. is ready to support her adopters with continued sessions—even attending meet & greets to set everyone up for success. Plus, her amazing foster family is willing to talk directly with interested adopters to share what makes Bianca so special. 💙

🐾✨ 872 Days of Waiting… Now Forever Begins ✨🐾

Yesterday was a BIG day for some of our pups! 8 dogs left on two separate transports heading toward brighter futures. Five of them made their way to Wisconsin, and we are especially thrilled to share that three of our long-term residents; Spritz (241 days), Loaf of Bread (210 days), and Lo**ta (421 days) are now off to Iowa where forever homes are waiting for them. 💕

Together, these three sweet dogs spent a combined 872 days in our care before finally getting their second chance. We can’t put into words how much joy it brings us to see our long-stay pups noticed, loved, and on their way to the families they’ve always deserved. 🏡🐶

Every single day they waited was worth it for this moment and we couldn’t be happier for Spritz, Loaf of Bread, and Lo**ta as they begin their new lives. ❤️

A huge thank you to the PINK Happy Tails Transport Team for safely moving our pups and to Friends of Rescue Animals for sponsoring the trip. We couldn’t do this without incredible partners like you. 💙

🚒🐱 Firefighters & Animal Services to the Rescue! 🐱🚒

Yesterday afternoon, Garland Fire Department Engine 6 responded to a call about a kitten stuck high in a tree in front of Frost Bank on N Garland Ave. Firefighters quickly set up a ladder, and a Fire Officer bravely climbed up to reach the frightened little one.

But in true kitten fashion, things didn’t go as expected—just as the officer reached out, the kitten leapt from the tree limb to the ground! 😲 Thankfully, our Animal Services team was on scene and able to safely capture the adventurous escape artist in a tomahawk box. 💕

Thanks to the amazing teamwork of Garland Fire Department and Garland Animal Shelter & Adoption Center , this curious kitten is now safe and sound. A dramatic afternoon with a very happy ending! 🏡❤️

🐾✨ FREE Pet Microchip Clinic – Happening TOMORROW! ✨🐾

Garland Animal Services will be out at the Garland Central Library on Wednesday, August 20th, from 10 AM – 2 PM, providing FREE microchips to Garland residents. Keeping your pets microchipped is one of the best ways to make sure they always find their way home. 💕

👉 What you need to know:
✅Garland residents only (Must provide proof of address)
✅ Pets must be on a leash or in a carrier
🚫 Pets are not allowed inside the library

🎉🐾After 527 Days, Love Wins! 🐾🎉

We are absolutely OVERJOYED to share that after 527 days (since March 9, 2024), our longtime resident Pepper has finally been adopted! 💕 She is now off to her forever home where she’ll get all the love, snuggles, and happiness she’s been waiting so patiently for. 🏡✨

Pepper’s journey reminds us why we do what we do and why our longtime residents are so incredibly special. We’d love to encourage everyone to please come by the shelter and ask about our long-stay dogs, because 13 times out of 10, they turn out to be the sweetest, most loving, and most deserving companions you could ever hope for. 🐶❤️

Let’s give Pepper the biggest congratulations as she starts her brand-new chapter! 🎊

🐿️❤️ Squirrel Cruelty Case Update ❤️🐿️

We want to thank our community for the tremendous outpouring of support we’ve received after the recent cruelty case involving a squirrel. From local citizens to news outlets, the compassion shown has been incredible, and it means so much to our team.

We are currently working with a squirrel specialist (yes a squirrel specialist lol) to help us better understand nesting habits and the types of trees that fit the description of their homes. This knowledge will guide us in identifying where to begin looking to ensure the safety and well-being of squirrels in our area.

A special thank you goes out to our shelter staff and a huge shoutout to our medical team for their immediate care during the initial rescue. We also want to recognize our licensed rescue partner, Katherine Rinz , who is still lovingly caring for this brave squirrel during his rehabilitation. He is now about 75% healed and getting closer each day to being fully recovered. 🐾 If you’d like to support Katherine and her incredible wildlife rescues, be sure to give her page a like and see the amazing work she’s doing! 💕

🎉🐾 MEGA Adoption Event Wrap-Up! 🐾🎉

What an INCREDIBLE weekend in Ft. Worth! Thanks to the amazing support from our community, 17 dogs and 30 cats from Garland Animal Services found their forever homes at the MEGA Adoption Event. 🐶🐱💖

One of the most touching moments was seeing one of our long-term dogs finally find the loving family he’s been waiting for. 💕 And even more special, a pup who came to us as a tiny 6-week-old and spent 9 months in our shelter was adopted into a wonderful home. 🏡✨

And that’s not all—together, the MEGA event found homes for 760 animals in total! 🎊🐾 Each of these adoptions means a brand-new beginning and a chance at a happily ever after.

A huge thank you to our friends at Friends of Rescue Animals for their help and support throughout this event. They are always such a wonderful addition to our efforts, and we are so grateful for their partnership in making these adoption success stories possible. ❤️🐾

We are overjoyed for every single pet who left the event with a new family. Thank you to everyone who adopted, volunteered, and supported us—you made this weekend unforgettable!
