Adopt Kayso! She is a confident, happy dog who goes boldly into new situations. Ever seen a Pyr climb a tree? Neither had we until Kayso!

Born in December 2023, this beautiful Great Pyrenees mix will likely weigh a “petite” 70 pounds when fully grown.

Kayso is a sweet, loving, and happy girl. She loves every person and dog she encounters and is playful with all.

No cats! She seems to have a high prey drive and cannot be trusted with cats. She chases them and mouths them in a not nice way.

If you are looking for a hiking or running buddy or someone to take long walks with, this is your girl. She is a high energy dog, but can settle down easily. She enjoys sleeping on cool tile floors after playing outside.

She loves to snuggle with you on the couch in the evenings and is an amazing cuddle buddy. She loves to be cradled like a baby.

Kayso is crate trained (although she will protest for a minute or two) and is housebroken.

She rides well in a car. She loves playing with hard toys such as Kongs. She walks well on leash and does even better when she has another dog to follow/mimic. She is learning not to jump and understands “no.”

She is looking for a home with a backyard, a family to care for her, and a playful companion dog. She would be great for families with children.

Kayso is excited to meet her furever family. Could that be you?

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!

Adopt Rocky! This loveable male Pyr mix is around 3 yrs old and 75 pounds, he appears to be mostly Great Pyrenees mixed with a smaller, leaner breed.

While shy around new people, once he bonds with you, he loves having your attention. He follows you everywhere, and tries his best to be a lap dog! He does well with kids and allows them to approach him for petting.

Rocky does great meeting new dogs. After they get acquainted, he loves playing with them and being close. He might do best with big dogs, since he sometimes plays a little rough. He eases up if he sees that other dog doesn’t like it.

He is leash trained and loves going for walks. He is great in dog parks, too.

Rocky is fully house trained. He has no need for a crate and can hurt himself when confined to one because he does his best to escape it.

Rocky doesn’t bark very much. Rather than bark at things that make him uncomfortable, he prefers to avoid.

He does well in the car. After he happily jumps in, he wants to get right up front with you.

With his low-to-moderate amount of energy, he could probably tolerate an apartment setting if he gets long daily walks and/or has a canine buddy to play with throughout the day.

Rocky wants to find his forever person and never leave their side. If he initially has separation anxiety, that will improve as he gets comfortable in his new home.

A new foster family saved the day by taking in TWO Great Pyrenees that were abandoned.

Recently we posted about 3 Pyrs that were dumped in Godly TX. Two were picked up by families, and the third Pyr came into SPIN Rescue - after a group effort to trap her.

Unfortunately one family was not able to keep the Pyr they picked up, even though she is very sweet, kid-friendly, and dog-friendly. Luckily, the new foster family stepped up and offered to take her in too.

These lovely ladies are now doing great in their SPIN foster home together ❤️❤️

The one that was skittish and had to be trapped is coming around. She was very scared in the beginning, but now she's going in and out easily. They're able to love on her and she's wagging her tail now too 🥹 See video in comments.

They will both be spayed and then available for adoption. *Updated: One is around 4yrs old, and the other 8yrs old.* Visit our website to become an approved adopter. We are based out of DFW, TX - out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport.

Moxie is doing wonderful in her foster home after previously being thrown from a car. She is a 4 month old female Great Pyrenees and will soon be available for adoption.

Farley spent a day at his foster mom's vet office where he lounged on the couch and just generally made himself comfortable. Everyone that came in was so happy to see him and give him attention and love. He ate it up!

🐾 Farley came into SPIN Rescue earlier this year with a significant injury to his back leg requiring amputation. He is now on the road to recovery and will soon be available for adoption. Learn more about fostering or adopting with SPIN Rescue on our website.

Bodie had his big vet visit and will soon be ready for adoption 🩵

From his foster mom: Bodie has the sweetest, funniest little personality. He thinks he’s the size of a teacup poodle and is always trying to crawl in my lap. He has learned to walk on the leash (loves going on walks), is now potty trained (had always been an outside dog previously) and is working on confidence riding in the car. He loves all the kids when we go on walks at the park. He is the best boy!

Bodie is a 1yr old male Great Pyrenees, he came to SPIN Rescue after a backyard breeder was giving him away. Initially extremely shy, he has blossomed into a happy dog in his foster home. Become an approved adopter on our website, www.spinrescue.org, and we can arrange a meet. Bodie is currently in a foster home in DFW, Texas - out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport.

Recently 3 Great Pyrenees were dumped in Godley, Tx. Two different families stopped and got two off the side of the road, but one was more skittish and she was left out there alone.

With her friends gone, she got scared and went up in to a pasture on the other side of the road to hide in some brush.

It was definitely a group effort to get her safe. Thank you everyone that was involved!

She is now off the streets and in a SPIN Rescue foster home ❤️

Happy Birthday to this fine lady that started SPIN Rescue 20-something years ago.

She's fostered 600+ dogs. And saved hundreds more.

She’s matched countless families with their PYRfect dogs.

She's someone we all turn to for advice on Pyrs - our own and our fosters.

We are lucky to have her.

Adopt Lizzy! This beautiful, sweet, gentle female Great Pyrenees mix with hypnotic eyes is around 2 years old. Found as a stray, she quickly regained her confidence after being warmly welcomed into her foster home.

Lizzy loves her people and enjoys giving them hugs. She gets super excited when given treats, tossing them around, and getting all prancy.

She is great with other dogs and has a wonderful time playing with her dog foster siblings, especially Carson who is also available for adoption. Lizzy must have a large, playful companion in her forever home.

Lizzy enjoys lounging in the house as much as she relishes playing outside. She is a fast runner, stretching her long legs in a beautiful sprint.

Lizzy is ready for her new life in a forever home where she can continue having abundant doggy friends, cuddles, food, treats, play, and love.

Moxie is doing great. She is the kindest Pyr puppy. Learning that people are ok after all. And follows the resident dogs everywhere. She looooves to be outside, no matter the weather. She had to go potty at 5am this morning and happily ran out into the rainstorm. She’s been outside most of the day even with the strong gusts of wind. I love her little sashay when she walks!

Crazy wind yesterday! Foster Alaska was enjoying it. We hope everyone didn’t get any serious property damage.

Adopt Chester! He is a 2yrs old, 55 pounds, male Great Pyrenees mix. He is very dog and people friendly, making new friends anywhere he goes.

Chester loves being with other dogs. He and his dog foster siblings play together in the back yard for hours, eat together, then cuddle together.

He also likes to fetch, a very uncommon trait in a Pyrenees. He is food motivated and more trainable than the average Pyr. He quickly learned sit and kennel training.

This sweet freckled guy is sure to bring joy to his forever home. Apply on our website and we can arrange a meet!

Chester is currently in a foster home in DFW area, TX. Out of area adopters are responsible for arranging transport.
