Side Quest Dog Training

Side Quest Dog Training Relationship Based Balanced Training I've been a dog trainer for 7 years. I grew up in Wisconsin with gun dogs, my dad was also a trainer!

Working as a dog trainer is all about continuing education and connecting with people. It is my passion to learn everything I can about dog behavior and how I can help people who struggle with their animals. My training method is simple, it's all about your dog and you. We work together to find what motivates and deters your dog to behave in a way that makes them easy to live with. The training pr

ogram is completely customized to fit you and your dog. After all your dog is only half the picture. How they fit into your life is the other part. I have worked with everything from behavior modification, leash manners, basic/advanced obedience, puppy training, life skills, household manners, and service dog training. My real passion projects in training are psychiatric and mobility service dogs and trick training. I love discovering a dog's potential and expanding on it. Whether it's just a little dog who's parents want him to spin because it's cute or a big dog who could offer peace of mind with well behaved "scary dog privilage". Training is all about what you need for your life and how we can fullfill your dog's needs as well.

ERROR 404: BRAIN NOT FOUND

The Guildmaster is currently on medical leave performing critical system updates.

All functions have been temporarily suspended while we attempt to reboot the operating system.

We’ll be back in May with updates, restored HP, and slightly improved decision-making abilities.

The Guild remains. Just… buffering.

Sunny has officially completed a very important side quest: Confidence with the Groomer.

And yes… her butt fluff was sculpted into ✨booty cheeks✨ by a true artisan.

But here’s the part no one talks about enough: she didn’t “just do great.”

Sunny started grooming later than we would have liked. Not because anyone failed her… but because she had some confidence quests that needed completing first.

And instead of rushing her into the Boss Battle under leveled, we trained for it.

We taught her:
• Hands touching her body = not a threat
• Weird noises and tools = survivable
• Holding still = actually kind of rewarding
• And most importantly… how to work with the groomer instead of fighting against them

That’s cooperative care.

It’s not flashy.
It doesn’t get you instant results.
It does prevent your dog from thinking the groomer is a villain in disguise.

Because here’s the truth:

Helping your dog understand the groomer is actually on their side makes life less stressful and upsetting for everyone involved.

Less guilt and apologies at drop off, less struggle for the groomer to give you amazing results, and most importantly less overwhelming dread for your dog.

We train for confidence, cooperation, and understanding.

Sunny walked into that grooming appointment prepared, informed, and just a little bit dramatic.

The result of her parent’s hard work: the groomer said she did amazing. We are so proud of how far she and her parents have come.

Lucy has officially begun her first Expedition, and the Guild is pleased to report: she is absolutely thriving.

We’ve started introducing the e-collar, and Lucy is one of those dogs who just gets it. Some adventurers put on new gear and immediately understand the assignment. Lucy is one of them.

Within minutes she discovered the sacred truth of the Leash Bubble: stay within Torin’s radius of influence means snacks rain from the heavens.

Naturally, Lucy decided this was an excellent deal.

Instead of feeling restricted, she’s been exploring the boundaries, checking in, and learning exactly where the good choices live. It’s been really fun watching her curiosity kick in and seeing her realize that training is basically just a puzzle where the answer key is snacks and play time.

Lucy brings so much enthusiasm and joy to everything she does, and we’re loving every minute of working with her.

The Guild fully approves of this chaos gremlin.

Connection, not perfection.

✨New Guild Member✨
Penny recently received the “there is now a human baby in my house” side quest and she has… thoughts about how it should be managed.

She would like to be involved.
Preferably in charge.

She also has some very strong opinions about other dogs on leash and isn’t shy about announcing them.

Past training left her a little unsure about corrections, so part of our quest is helping her rebuild confidence, rediscover play, and learn that hearing “no” doesn’t mean the world has ended.

We love her, and can wait to go on this adventure with her.

✨New Guild Member Alert✨

This is Echo: Boston’s newest Corgi Loaf!

He LOVES tricks. Craves them. Thrives on them. Honestly, we suspect he thinks he’s running the sessions.

Our quest is simple: help him conquer city chaos and expand his already impressive bag of party tricks without losing that confident little corgi swagger.

The Guild has accepted the mission.

🐾Nee Guild Member Alert🐾
Meet Riley: a good ol’ black lab fueled entirely by joy, optimism, and the belief that every human is his best friend.

“Guests and random strangers?? AMAZING,” he says.
“Leash manners? Irrelevant,” he also says.

Unfortunately, Riley’s enthusiasm has occasionally resulted in his dad achieving an unplanned prone position on the ground. While impressive, this is not the skill we’re trying to level up.

Our goal isn’t to crush Riley’s spirit (absolutely not). It’s to help him keep all four paws on the earth while expressing his boundless love for the world. Joy is welcome. Dragging your human like a sled dog is not.

Today’s adventurers: Peppers & Pickles
Frenchie siblings. Bonded pair. Self-appointed supervision committee.

Quest objective: Practice separation without escalating to a full emotional crisis.

Today, Peppers and Pickles were asked to do the unthinkable:
•watch from behind a barrier and not be involved
•accept that Mom can exist without them actively touching her

The barrier was established and the FOMO was real.
All of Frenchie kind was displeased.
Heavy breathing and intense staring ensued.

At one point, Pickles issued a Frenchie lamentation howl to formally express his concerns with this arrangement. His feedback was noted.

We practiced calm observation, emotional regulation, and the radical idea that they do not have be involved; no supervision or management is required of these two.

Boredom was accepted as the lamentation passed.
The Guild stands by this training decision and rewarded their efforts well.

Connection, not perfection.

🐾 New Guild Member Alert 🐾
Yes, we’re behind. No, we will not be apologizing. Time is an illusion and the Guild has been so busy with all these new recruits! Stand by for additional new recruit announcements.

This is Teddy.

Teddy is wildly smart, relentlessly happy, and absolutely convinced that everyone deserves to meet him immediately.
Does he bark at passersby? Yes.
Does he attempt to greet neighborhood dogs with the enthusiasm of a golden retriever who just discovered caffeine? Also yes.

But here’s the thing: it all comes from a good place.

Our quest with Teddy isn’t to erase his joy or make him smaller. It’s to help him learn how to share that joy without overwhelming the unsuspecting public. We’re refining the skills, polishing the manners, and guiding him toward his true destiny:

✨ A gentleman of the neighborhood. ✨

Connection, not perfection.
The Guild is proud to have you, Teddy.
