Many were wondering what times people tend to go down to the park!

During the week we have a good sized group between 4:45pm-5:15pm. Weekends it varies.

We are having a Parvo virus breakout in this area; Some Augusta facilities have shut down because of this, just a reminder to avoid spreading the virus:

Please pick up after your dog and dispose of waste in the proper manner while visiting the park! This helps stop the spread of the virus so we can all still enjoy playtime with our pups.

If your dog is having diarrhea, vomiting, or showing any sign of sickness, please do not bring them down to the park until a few days after symptoms have subsided.

I really hate to post something negative again, while at the park this afternoon there was a broken beer bottle close to the fence. My dog was running around with a piece of glass in her mouth.

Please do not bring glass bottles down to the park.

There are some unacceptable behaviors that have been occurring at the Gardiner Dog Park that need to be addressed:

1. More than one individual(s) have been coming down to the park under the influence, not only is this a danger to themselves, the dogs, and park goers;
This is a danger to the COMMUNITY as you should by UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BE DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. Dogs have been injured by such actions, IF you come down and seem to be under the influence and are: making a disturbance, causing scene, making the dogs/ owners uncomfortable, the police WILL be notified.

2. Cigarette butts have been found throughout the area of the park. Every park in Gardiner is TO***CO FREE, INCLUDING THE DOG PARK. This is a danger to the dogs who could easily mistake it for a treat and eat it, or even new puppies who cannot distinguish trash or treats. Please refrain from smoking inside the park and disposing of ci******es inside the park. Please exit the park to smoke and dispose of your cigarette butts in the proper manner. If you are found smoking and/or disposing of your ci******es on park grounds, the police will be notified.

Thank you for your continuing cooperation to keep the park clean and safe for both the dogs and the community.

Dog park rules - see below for easy reference. We are glad you are able to enjoy the park! There have been a few concerns about aggressive dogs. If your dog is aggressive, please remove the pup from the park. If there is any dog or dog owner behavior concerns, per their request, please call the Gardiner police (number on the rules sign at the park). Reminder to bring water and if you "see a p**p - pick it up!" If there are any maintenance concerns - please message us. Thank you!!
