Nose to the Ground Big Game Tracking

Maple got it done again today for a buddy of mine shes on fire this year and love seeing her accel at off lead tracking. It was a tough track with a bit of grid searching involved with multiple beds took her some time to work past the grid search and scent pool area she kept back tracking i pulled her back to last blood one more time and she took off nose down in the direction I thought the deer was headed hunter found more blood so we advanced to that and she picked up the trail right away and went straight to em couldn't be more proud of this girl she has been down for a few days with a broken nail it looked good today so we gave her a go at it she got through the track fine but has a good limp again so unfortunately we wont be taking any tracks until atleast Monday she needs few more days rest and she will be back 100% good luck hunters be safe out there tmrw shoot straight and when in doubt back out

Haven't been able to take many tracks due to my truck needing repairs but had a call yesterday for a track pretty much in our back yard so we headed out put maple on the trail at 430pm by 5pm deer was found tagged and loaded and we were headed home deer only went about 110 yards but hunter lost blood at 70 yards and he had lower intestines found on the blood trail he back out asked around and was referred to us we talked i told em I dont think he went far with how he explained the deer was walking off like so I told em dont grid search back out I get off at 3 we can take a run up it will be 8hr mark and he should be expired if not close enough for follow up shot with being a liver hit as well they did just that and that deer didnt go much further then his last blood deer was expired and stiff but still a bit warm so it was the right call then a first for Nose to the Ground tracking Shawn Hamill got a call from a buddy close by while I was at work they had good blood for 500 yards and lost blood we have tracked for him before so he immediately backed out and called us deer was only 216 yards from shot sight but had made a huge circle going about 600 yards or so was shot the day prior around 3pm and when found he was still warm so proud of this girl shes really excelling being off lead and proud of my hubby on his first solo track with out me there he usually tags along so knows the basics and what i watch for in maple...

now we hope to have my truck repaired by tonight and ill be back at it my work schedule permitting as well as hunting my self ill do my best to take as many as I can good luck hunters remember when in doubt back out even if your not sure exactly what happened give me a call and I can try to give you advice on what to do i have talked a few hunters through recovering their deer with out me even showing up so dont hesitate to call i have years experience tracking with out a dog and im pretty darn good at it but ultimately Maples the best a Nose never lies and she has one heck of a nose on her

I Apologize but I can not take up any tracks right now due to my truck needing repairs if I can get to you I will but least I can do is try to help you figure out what happened and what to do next with out the assistance of a dog

Got the call for our first track for 2025 season went in to start the track at 20hrs post shot arrow and hunters info pointed to a liver shot the hunter started tracking the deer 1 hr after the shot due to the incoming rain he tracked him for 300 yards on dark blood lost blood backed out called us maple made quick work of the known blood trail but hung up at the grid search mind you we had rain the night before as well as off and on all day with swirling gusting winds at 20 plus mph maple lost interest but I had a good feeling about what direction the deer was headed and that it was a dead deer and kept going encouraged maple along the way just as we were about to call it maple hit on a scent line in the area I kept seeing her go to on the gps but wouldnt advance so we walked in she dropped her nose and went low and slow and I knew she was back on the track then we kicked up a bunch of vultures and crows and hubby split off to go check out the noise from the birds back in the woods about 50 yards off the old logging road she was bringing us down and found the deer picked clean by yotes but was closure for the hunter unfortunately it happens but most importantly the hunter has his deer and maple got a win remember when in doubt back out sometimes even just giving me a call I can tell you if you should wait or if you need a dog if we cant get to you I can refer you to another tracker please if your unsure of the shot or loose blood do not grid search it makes it 10x harder for the dog to pick through just give us a call and we will get to you ASAP 9064507026

I think it's safe to say Maple is back and ready for action got a call tonight buddy got a doe said he would let her come track it so she could get back on her game after so many bad shots and shoulder hits this year she was having a rough season then she got sick we think she was having reaction to her dog food she's on new food now and seems to have more energy then ever now and is ready to get back at it I work 2 jobs and hunt myself so please bare with me ill do my best to get there as soon as I can good luck and be safe everyone

Unfortunately we will not be taking Any tracks this weekend and until further notice somethings up with maple she has been sick off and on for the last 2 ish weeks the tracks we have been on she hasn't been her self so we are going to take a break for this weekend see if we can get her on the mend if you need a tracker still reach out I know a few trackers around the u.p I can get you in touch with while maples taking a break I'm gonna try and do some hunting myself this weekend good luck hunters shoot straight when in doubt back out

Maple did fantastic tonight I think she did some of her best work tonight she tracked this deer for a total of a mile and half found 1 bed at about 250 yards jumped em he looped back across the track and ended up crossing a road unfortunately it was not a fatal shot and the buck lives to see another day it happens and that's what why we do what we do to help put hunters mind at ease she got that loop absolutely perfect and never even hesitated when we crossed the track we had already been through she was hot on him the whole time so proud of her she's really come a long way in the past year in the woods and at home she's such an amazing dog and love that I have the honor of getting to work with her

Maples new harness has arrived I love it it fits her so much better and it's very heavy duty she hasn't been feeling good last couple of days and with a loss in the family we both have not been up for tracks I'm hoping by this weekend she is back to her self but we will have to play it by ear please still reach out if you need a tracker I know a few around the u.p and can get you in touch with them happy hunting everyone stay safe shoot straight ❤️
