🐱 Happy International Cat Day! 🐱

Cats are experts at hiding when something is wrong, so knowing the signs of an emergency is important. Keep an eye out for these 5 feline emergencies:

🚨 Difficulty breathing
🚨 Straining or inability to urinate
🚨 Possible toxin exposure
🚨 Trauma or serious injury
🚨 Refusing food, especially for 24+ hours

When it comes to cats, subtle changes can mean something serious. If your cat doesn’t seem like themselves, don’t wait, get them evaluated. ❀️

🚨 An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for our area this week. Please take a few minutes to help keep your pets safe.

Heatstroke can develop quickly, especially in flat-faced breeds like Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Persian cats, and Himalayan cat, but any pet can be affected. The hottest part of the week is expected to be Wednesday, with inland temperatures climbing into the 90s.

A few simple precautions can save a life:
🐾 Avoid hot pavement
πŸ’§ Provide plenty of fresh, cool water
🌳 Keep pets in the shade or indoors with air conditioning
πŸš— Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle, even for a minute

If your pet is showing signs of heatstroke, such as excessive panting, weakness, vomiting, collapse, or red gums, seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Heatstroke is a life-threatening emergency.

We'll be here if you need us.
