When he's on campus and not teaching in the lab, you can find him at 309F Roth Hall!
..side note - while Keith's pride in being a UVM alum will always ring loudly, we need to get him some LIU gear 😂

If your horse has been diagnosed with PPID and is currently being treated with pergolide, the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine - Keith’s alma mater - would be grateful for your help with their current research.

🐴💊 Did you know that pergolide treatment for horses with Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID) is only effective in 60–80% of cases?

Many horses receiving pergolide for PPID experience adverse effects that can limit proper treatment, and response rates can vary significantly.

The Equine Genetics & Genomics Lab is currently investigating the genetic component that may influence pergolide response in horses with PPID.

If your horse meets the enrollment criteria, please consider learning more about our ongoing genetics study and enrolling.

We have some exciting news to share....

Dr. Bogatch has joined the faculty at Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine as Associate Professor of Equine Medicine 🐴🎓

This role naturally brings together Keith’s passion for caring for horses and his long-standing love of teaching — and it truly feels like a dream come true!

We are overjoyed to officially contribute to the education of future equine veterinarians. Meaningful mentorship is essential not only during veterinary school, but throughout the early years of a young veterinarian’s career, and it plays a critical role in nurturing and sustaining a lifelong love of equine medicine for the future of horse care.

As an established, highly experienced clinician, Keith brings insight, thoughtfulness, practicality, clear communication, and a genuine sense of humor to his work with students. His goal is to support and inspire them as they develop their skills, while preserving the passion for horses that led them to pursue veterinary medicine in the first place — and to help strengthen the future of equine care.

Bogatch Equine will continue to operate as usual, serving our growing clientele and their horses across Long Island, Saratoga Springs, and Western Vermont with the same dedication, compassion, and hands-on care we value so deeply.
