Just a friendly reminder starting July1st-July5th the shop will be closed. Fireworks are legally allowed to start being set off on July 1st, due to that the anxiety and behavior of dogs can get abnormal, the rise of biting is higher, and dogs get scared enough they want to hurt themselves getting out of tub and off the grooming table. For their safety and comfort we will do our annual closing. NOW is the week to call and talk to your vets about calming meds (trazadone) now is the time to prepare your pups for the chaotic sounds of war too them. Let's keep these puppies safe❤️❤️ and cats as well❤️

🔴🔴🔴Unfortunately due to the actions of a few, a new rule will be set for everyone. Spring and Summer 2026 has already shown that its going to be a BAD year for flea and ticks. I have had to close shop and reschedule others atleast 10 times already since April due to the bugs and mainly owners lack of communication and responsibility. I have lost out on $100s and more importabtly people have lost appointments because they are unable to reschedule due to their calendars. Each time a pet comes in with fleas as prevention for spreading I choose to shut the shop down, I dont have to but I care, and use multiple bug foggers, those are NOT cheap.Because I have had so many clients return numerously with fleas and ticks with no effort into prevention I will be raising flea and tick prices. If your pets come in with fleas or ticks it will now be an extra $25 NO exceptions.

Fleas and ticks are BAD this year, I personaly have had 2 ticks in last month from grooming. Owners you NEED to take precautions and prevent this as much as you can. Things that will help:

🐾check your dogs and cats when they come inside EVERYTIME. Fleas and ticks LOVE hot moist areas so, you need to be checking
• in between the toes
• in and around the ears and eyes
• above and under the tail especially the base where to meets the body.
•in the armpits and groin area
🐾Watch Signs and symptoms of both bugs such as
• Flea dirt, it looks like little flecks of black pepper but when damp or wet they will turn into rusty reddish color.
• Excessive itching, licking, and or biting
• Loss of fur or patches of fur thinning out
• Ticks can cause lethargy even in young pups
🐾When treating and preventing fleas and ticks it is prudent you treat ALL animals at the same time even if some do not show signs of having them.
🐾 Topical creams and chew tablets are the best but you should ALWAYS ask your vet what is best for you pets as each one can respond differently. Flea collars are great for outdoor trips like hiking, camping ,hunting, but flea collars can lose their potency if they are wet often such as swimming frequently in the pool or lake, playing in sprinklers, and rolling around in mudd or puddles.
🐾 If your pets catch these bugs its a pain to get rid of and expensive. It is recommended you get all new collars, harnesses, leashes, beds, and clothing they wear. You must spray and clean anything and everything that has carpet or is fabric as the eggs can be there to the naked eye. Its more expensive to replace and clean than it is to prevent.
🐾 Lastly you can save money on ALL your pets medications by having your vet send your pets prescriptions to a pharmacy such as Sams club. This includes Bravecto (im not paid for recommending this) one of the most recommended prevention for your dogs and cats. I also recommend lawn spray for your grass, trees, and bushes. You can save enough money to get you a fancy steak or 2 McDonald's Mcdoubkes in this economy, with the right prevention

*** and as always before using anything on your pets or around your pets ASK your vet first!!

Fleas and ticks! So with the weather being already extremely hot this year it bringing out the bugs early. Flys, ants, wasps, FLEAS and TICKS. The last couple weeks I've had a few dogs come in with ticks and fleas, mainly ticks, and unfortunately I got one myself attached to my my hairline yesterday😭😭. Couple helpful tick tips from one of your local groomers

🔴use prevention for both yourself and your dog(s) especially when out and about in nature. Like lake, mountains, forrest, farm fields and even your front yard
🔴you can get oral or topical prevention for you pets and a yard/bush spray for you lawns that are non harmful to your plants. I highly recommend that.
🔴Do a tick check when you get home on both yourself and your dog(s), don't lay in beds where they can hangout to snack on you later.
🔴 ticks and fleas love hot moist areas. On dogs you will more than likely find them in the crotch area, behind or in ears, in between the toes, in the armpits, around the eyes and near the rear above the base of the tail.
🔴For humans they love it in the hair, under breast and testicles, armpits and usually around ankles where its easy to attach.
🔴If you find a ticks use tweezers grab the whole body twist and pull. Make sure you get the head out or it will cause further irritation.
🔴 Flea dirt is dried blood and looks and feels like little gritty pepper flakes. If you get wet cloth and dab an area, flea dirty will come off as a rusty reddish color.
🔴Have your spouse or someone you trust to tick check you. have them look in places you can't yourself😉
🔴tick check those ferral kids cause they love rolling around on the ground. In between those cute little baby rolls, even iff they were ona. Blanket on the grass. Fleas can jump to the equivalent of a human jumping a football field and can survive being frozen and in water up to 48hrs.
🔴🔴if you suspect fleas or ticks before a grooming appointment LET THE GROOMER KNOW!!! That way we can be prepared . My shop flea and tick baths start at $20 add on.

Call your vet and ask what's best for your pets, both cats and dogs as each pet is different. And most of all...

HAVE A FUN SAFE Spring and Summer with all your furry friends and family.🌞🌻🐶🐕🐈
