My home-based art classes have a strong realism focus, and students learn foundational art principles, such as composition, form, values, color theory, etc. They learn patience and perseverance. They learn to find their mistakes and correct them, rather than giving up. They learn to accept critiques and how to respectfully critique others. I show them the progression of my own hyperrealism art and explain where I am having difficulties and how I resolve the issues.
We take (optional) field trips to a horse stable for life drawing twice a year, and we have an annual art show and young artist awards reception, where everyone's artwork is recognized and winners are announced. This is not an arts and crafts class by any stretch of the imagination and the high caliber of my students work demonstrates that. I am so proud and honored to teach all of these amazing kids!
The quality of my students work speaks for itself. I can accept 64 students each semester. I currently have 3 spots left on Wednesdays 1-2pm and 5 spots left on Thursdays 4-5pm. Fall classes start next week on Sept 9.
